Chandigarh, September 8: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal while presiding over the meeting of the State Task Force of Swachh Bharat Mission said that like 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, Swachh Bharat Mission is also one of the topmost priorities of the State Government, hence every village and city of the state should be made clean and beautiful with public participation. The State Task Force Chairman and MLA, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda, Vice Chairman, Sh. Subhash Chandra and members also remained present on this occasion.
The Chief Minister said that the meeting of the Swachh Bharat Mission State Task Force should be held every three months so that the schemes could be implemented after reviewing the works.
He directed the officers concerned to constitute a district-level task force and said that the meeting of the district-level task force should be held every month. During the meeting the Chief Minister also took feedback from the members of the State Task Force and gave necessary directions to the officers.
Ensure proper utilization of funds
The Chief Minister directed the officers concerned to ensure proper utilization of funds given by the Central and State Government under the Swachh Bharat Mission. He said that the responsibility of the officer should be fixed for this.
He further directed that community toilets should be constructed only at those places where there is a need and if the satisfactory report needs to be reviewed then that too should be done at the earliest.
The District Project Manager (DPM) of Swachh Bharat Mission would submit the report to the CEO of the Zilla Parishad as well as to the members of the State Task Force, directed Sh. Manohar Lal.
Emphasis to be laid on developing villages a role model in cleanliness
The Chief Minister said that to make villages and cities clean with public participation, the cooperation of voluntary organizations and institutions should be taken. A village should be developed as a role model from cleanliness point of view, he directed.
He said that the model villages developed at the block and district level should become a source of inspiration for others. Besides this, cleanliness and beautification competitions should be organized among the local bodies to make the cities clean, added Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister also directed the officers concerned to appoint nodal officers for Swachh Bharat Mission in all the units of the local bodies. He further directed the officers concerned to work amicably for chalking out plans to resolve technical problems related to Gobardhan Yojana and Solid Waste Management.
Principal Secretary Electronics, Information Technology and Communications Department and Sh. Vineet Garg, Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department, Sh. Arun Gupta, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Agrawal, Director General, Development and Panchayats, Sh. R.C Bidhan, Director, Urban Local Bodies, Department, Sh. D.K Behera and other officers were present on the occasion.
