Chandigarh, September 9: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal while calling upon the educationists said that poor students should get opportunities for higher education. Besides this, a secured future should also be provided to such students by providing self-reliance oriented education.
The Chief Minister interacted with the Vice-Chancellors and Registrars of Private Universities across the state at his residence here today.
The Chief Minister said that the State Government has taken first of its kind initiative to give free passports along with degrees to the youth.
He also called upon the youth of the state to learn foreign languages.
Giving his own example, Sh. Manohar Lal said that he has taken admission to a Japanese language learning course.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that the State Government has also started the 'Earn While You Learn' programme.
The Chief Minister said that the present State Government is taking several steps to improve the quality of education.
He said that the Super 100 programme started by the State Government is proving to be a boon for those students who are aspiring to appear for competitive exams.
Initially, this programme was started at two places only but now it has been decided to expand it to atleast four places.
