Chandigarh, September 10– Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has expressed gratitude towards the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi and the Central Government for declaring Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for six Rabi crops before the sowing season begins. He expressed hope that this decision will prove to be an important step towards the goal of doubling the income of the farmers.
The Chief Minister said this during a special interaction here today.
He said that Haryana is also playing an important role in doubling the income of farmers. He said that Haryana is the first State in the Country where highest price of sugarcane is being given. This year also, the Haryana Government has increased the price of sugarcane by Rs. 12 per quintal with which the effective price has been increased from Rs. 350/- to Rs. 362/- . This rate is the highest in the country and Rs. 2/- more than the price being given in neighbouring State of Punjab.
The Chief Minister said that in these six Rabi crops, the minimum support prices have been increased by Rs. 40 to Rs. 400 and in many crops there has been an increase of up to 100 percent even. He said that if the minimum support prices continue to be increased in the same way next year, then surely the income of the farmers will double by the year 2022 as per the aim of the Prime Minister.
It is noteworthy that for the last four years, the Central Government has been declaring the Minimum Support Price for Rabi crops before the sowing season. With this, the farmer can map the estimate as to which crop can get him more profit.
