Chandigarh, November 2 – Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal here today has given approval to amendment in Haryana Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, 2007 regarding designation of Chief Executive Officer as District Programme Coordinator, MGNREG Scheme.
Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) is operational under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005. All Gram Panchyats of all districts of the State have been covered under the scheme w.e.f. April 1, 2008.
Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal had taken the decision in the review meeting of various schemes of Development & Panchayats Department and Rural Development Department, Haryana held on June 14, 2019 that the Chief Executive Officer, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) will execute and supervise Mahatma Gandhi NREGS, therefore, it is necessary to amend the existing provision of the Haryana Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, 2007.
There is need to insert the amendment in the State Scheme in Para 2(b) chapter-I, para 8(9) of Chapter-I and para 20(7) of Chapter-III by substituting the existing one in the Haryana Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, 2007.
“The Chapter-I, Para 2(b) "Additional District Programme Coordinator" means the Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chief Executive Officer of the District Rural Development Agency” to be amended to “Chapter-I, Para 2(b) "District Programme Coordinator" means the Chief Executive Officer of the District Rural Development Agency.”
“Chapter-I, Para 8(9) The District Programme Coordinator shall implement the Scheme in his district. The Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chief Executive Officer shall be designated as Additional District Coordinator to assist the District programme Coordinator” to be amended to “Chapter-I, Para 8(9) The District Programme Coordinator shall implement the Scheme in his/her district.”
“Chapter-III, Para 20(7) The District Programme Coordinator and Additional District Programme Coordinator shall be authorized to sign cheques for drawal of funds upto Rs.10 lakh” to be amended to “Chapter-III, Para 20(7) The District Programme Coordinator shall be authorized to sign cheques for drawal of funds upto ten lakhs rupees.”
