Chandigarh, December 10: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that cleanliness is needed to make life easier and for this purpose, today the State Government has started work on the process of making ‘Kachre se Kanchan’.
The Chief Minister said this while addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone of two municipal corporation projects in Sector-14 of Gurugram today.
He laid the foundation stone of the Municipal Corporation office and the Waste to Energy Plant to be built at Bandhwari. The office building of the Municipal Corporation will be built in the area of the Vyapaar Sadan in Sector-14, Gurugram.
Union Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation, Rao Inderjit Singh and Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma also remained present on this occasion.
He said that the construction work of this waste to energy plant to be set up by Eco Green is planned to be completed in two years. This 15 MW capacity plant will generate 6 lakh units of electricity per day. Gradually, as the population increases, the capacity of the plant will also be increased. In Sonipat, electricity is being generated from waste with a capacity of 10 MW.
Referring to the Waste to Energy Plant to be built at Bandhwari, he said that with the establishment of this plant, Gurugram district has moved towards joining the category of beautiful cities of the world.
The Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, while calling upon the common man under the Swachh Bharat Mission, has described cleanliness as an ornament. He said that cleanliness is also included in the things which play an important role in Ease of Living.
He said that Municipal Corporation office building would be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, for which an amount of Rs 117 crore would be spent. This building will be prepared in 2 acres of land in which a Vyapaar Bhavan will also be built. There is also a plan to build an auditorium with a seating capacity of 600 people in the 11-story building of the Municipal Corporation.
Earlier, Union Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation and Gurugram MP, Rao Inderjit Singh said that the problem of waste in both the cities of Gurugram and Faridabad will be resolved and the standard of living of the people will improve.
