Chandigarh, December 23- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today inaugurated the newly constructed Girls Hostel in Guru Brahmanand Women College campus at village Anjanthali in Karnal district. In a programme organized on the occasion of Jagat Guru Brahmanand Jayanti, the Chief Minister approved to start nursing course for women in the same college and to build a stadium on around 6 acres of land in the name of Olympic Medalist, Sh. Neeraj Chopra. Apart from announcing a grant of Rs. 51 lakh for the development of Women's College, Anjanthali, he also announced to rename the Women's College at Bastara to Guru Brahmanand Women College on the demand of Akhil Bhartiya Road Mahasabha.
While addressing, the Chief Minister said that it is our ancient tradition to contribute a share out of our noble earnings for any good work. In view of this, the rich people of the society should come forward to contribute in the social cause. While congratulating on the 114th birth anniversary of Guru Brahmanand which is observed on December 24, he said that Jagat Guru Brahmanand was a strong advocate of women's education. He was a symbol of renunciation and penance and he was also the preserver of religion and culture. Besides this, Swami Brahmananda was also a Karmayogi and Gau Rakshak who wrote many books and treatises on social reforms.
MLA, Gharaunda, Sh. Harvinder Kalyan who was present on the occasion contributed Rs. 2.21 lakh, MLA, Sh. Bhagwan Das KabirPanthi announced to contribute one month's pension and Deputy Vice Chancellor, Dr. Samar Singh, Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, Anjanthali also announced his one month's salary for the development of Women College.
