Chandigarh, January 14- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that Gurukul is an ancient system, where students give Dakshina to the Guru after receiving their education and the spirit of reverence prevails in Gurukuls even today. The entire society and the world is associated with Gurukul education, which makes us civilized. The Chief Minister exhorted the people to maintain brotherhood to eliminate social evils and protect the country and society.
Sh. Manohar Lal said this while addressing the gathering at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Samrat Mihir Bhoj Gurukul Vidyapeeth at Jagadhri in Yamunanagar held on Friday. Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal and MP, Sh. Rattan Lal Kataria also remained present on this occasion.
The Chief Minister first congratulated the people of the state on the occasion of Makar Sankranti, Bihu and Pongal. He said that King Mihir Bhoj did great things to protect the traditions of the country.
It is an important task to open educational institutions with values in his name. Such institutions help inculcate cultural values in the youth. Taking important steps, Haryana Government has taken up the work of including moral education, education of scriptures and Gita shloka in the educational curriculum, added Sh. Manohar Lal
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced a matching grant of Rs 1 crore, government assistance of Rs. 51 lakh and Rs. 2 lakh from his voluntary fund to Gurukul Educational Institute.
He said that great men do not belong to a particular section of the society, they are an inspiration to everyone hence students of all religions, castes and classes will study in this Gurukul. In this institution, education from classes VI to XII will be imparted to boys. Apart from the ancient education system, students studying here will be able to study on the lines of the CBSE pattern.
Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal and MP Rattan Lal Kataria also announced Rs. 31 lakh and Rs 11 lakh respectively for the Gurukul. Yamunanagar MLA, Sh. Ghanshyam Das Arora, Faridabad MLA, Sh. Rajesh Nagar, Haryana Staff Selection Commission Chairman, Sh. Bhopal Singh Khadri also remained present in the programme.
