Chandigarh, January 14: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the state government is making every possible effort to provide water to the farmers of Haryana. For this, a dam will be constructed in Adi Badri area.
The Chief Minister shared this while responding to the queries of media persons at Adi Badri on Friday.
The Chief Minister said that Adi Badri is the source of many small rivers. A dam will be constructed by interlinking these rivers.
An MoU will be signed with the Himachal Pradesh government for this dam. The Central Government will also help in this project. This will lead to the flow of water in the Saraswati river and ensure provision of water for irrigation to the surrounding areas, informed Sh. Manohar Lal
The Chief Minister after holding detailed discussions with the officials concerned gave necessary directions to them.
After this, the Chief Minister along with the officers concerned visited the places of origin of Saraswati, Rampur Gainda and Som river.
He informed that the State Government is dedicatedly working to preserve the ancient heritage of the Adibadri region. This project will play a pivotal role in the field of water conservation, irrigation, drinking water and for the promotion of tourism as well, added Sh. Manohar Lal.
On this occasion, Education and Forest Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal, Ambala MP, Rattan Lal Kataria, Yamunanagar MLA, Sh. Ghanshyam Das Arora also remained present.
