Chandigarh, January 23: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today extended greetings to the people of the state on the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
The Chief Minister today laid the foundation stone of the State Information Commission building to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 36.49 crore in Sector 3, Panchkula and announced to name this building after Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
Later, while interacting with the media, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the indomitable courage, spirit of patriotism and inspiration of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose that was inculcated in youth for achieving the country's independence can never be forgotten.
“It is really unfortunate that the Congress party could never think beyond the dynasty of the Nehru family and due to this the contributions made by Netaji and other revolutionaries in the struggle for country's independence never got the required attention. However, today youth should take inspiration from the biography of revolutionaries like Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and come forward to make a pivotal contribution in the progress of the country and society”, added Sh. Manohar Lal.
Replying to a question, the Chief Minister said that the Congress should regret hiding the contribution made by leaders like Netaji in the country's independence and should express gratitude to the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi for unveiling the hologram statue of Netaji at India Gate on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary so that future generations can take lessons from his life.
Today on the 125th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as part of the Amrit Mahotsav to mark the celebrations of the 75th year of India’s independence going across the country, ’Parakram Diwas’ have been organized at 75 places in Haryana. The statue of Netaji has also been unveiled in the park near Haryana MLA Hostel Chandigarh,” said the Chief Minister while replying to another question.
Besides this, training has been given to as many as 40 local youth of Morni under Home Stay Scheme by Milkha Singh Adventure Sports Club to promote adventure sports in Morni area and attract tourists, out of which 3 have been provided offer letters of young entrepreneurs by Home Stay of India, added Sh. Manohar Lal.
Responding to another question regarding the assembly elections to be held in five states, the Chief Minister said that the election process has just started and gradually the situation will become clear and he hopes that the Party will perform better than its previous performance.
The construction of the six-story State Information Commission building is estimated to be completed in two years and administrative approval of Rs. 36.49 crore has been given. The total area of the plot is 3274.35 square meters and it will have two basements. The total covered area of the said building will be 8500.98 square meters. The basement will have an area of 3692.20 square meters.

Aman Kumar, Secretary, RTA, Mamta Sharma, State Information Commissioners, Sh. Chander Prakash, Sh. Arun Sangwan, Sh. Narinder Singh Yadav, Smt. Kamaldeep Bhandari, BJP leader Sh Om Prakash Devi Nagar and other officials were also present.
