Chandigarh, February 7: Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that holding a Pre-Budget Consultation meeting with the Council of Ministers and Administrative Secretaries so as to prepare a democratic budget, ensuring the holistic development of the state with the participation of all is the sole objective of the State Government.

Sh. Manohar Lal said this while speaking at the Pre-Budget Consultation meeting held at Judicial Academy, Chandigarh on Monday. During this, Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala and other Cabinet and State Ministers along with Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D.S. Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Sh. T.V.S.N Prasad and other Administrative Secretaries also shared their valuable suggestions for the Budget 2022-23.

The Chief Minister said that three years ago, while taking a new initiative he had started the tradition of holding Pre-Budget Consultation meeting with Council of Ministers, MLAs, Administrative Secretaries and other stakeholders before preparing the Budget.

“In the last two years, due to Pandemic, as it was not possible to conduct Pre-Budget Consultation meetings physically, hence all the Ministers, MLAs, Administrative Secretaries and other stakeholders were asked to send their suggestions in writing”, informed the Chief Minister.  

He said that all the pivotal suggestions were also included in the State’s Budget. These efforts of the government were appreciated across the state. Today's Pre-Budget Consultation meeting was organized to seek suggestions from the stakeholders and every possible effort will be made to include these suggestions in the Budget.

In the meeting, the Administrative Secretaries shared their suggestions regarding the introduction of new schemes. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister after giving a patient hearing to all the suggestions assured them to include all these suggestions.

“No scheme will be stopped due to financial constraints. The all-around development of the state is the first priority of our government,” added Sh. Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister said that the accessibility of new schemes for the common man should be made hassle-free with the use of better technology so that the concept of Ease of Living can be realized.

Sh. Manohar Lal directed the Administrative Secretaries to prepare welfare schemes while paying special attention to Farmers, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Irrigation, Health, and Transport.

The Chief Minister directed the Development and Panchayat and Urban Local Bodies Department to conduct separate pre-budget consultation meetings with their stakeholders so as to share better suggestions. In today’s meeting he also did department-wise review of the Budget presented last year.

On this occasion, Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij, Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, Power Minister, Sh. Ranjit Singh, Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister, Sh. J.P Dalal, Cooperation Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Dr. Kamal Gupta, Development and Panchayat Minister, Sh. Devender Singh Babli, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Smt. Kamlesh Dhanda, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Sh. Anoop Dhanak, Administrative secretaries, and senior officers of all departments also remained present.
