Chandigarh, March 22:  Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that in a bid to keep a close vigil on the problem of overloading of trucks, regular checking is being done by police and other teams from time to time.  However, this problem is more in the Nuh district because the work of freight and mining is more here, he added.

"There should be mutual trust between the drivers and the police," said Sh. Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister said this while responding to a question asked by MLA Aftab Ahmed regarding the challans being issued for overloading of trucks and tractors in the last year.

Sh. Manohar Lal urged the three MLAs of the Nuh district present in the House to also motivate the local people and truck drivers that if the police stop them for checking, they should stop.  Running away from the police without stopping the vehicle certainly raises several doubts.

The Chief Minister urged the drivers that they need not fear from the police, if the police stop them then they should stop for checking.

"If any driver is found violating the rules, then their challan would certainly be issued but if they are not at fault then no challan would be issued. The police should also need to tackle this with sensitivity," added Sh. Manohar Lal.

Opposition MLA admires  the working style of the Chief Minister

Punhana MLA, Sh Mohammad Iliyas, who always complained in the House that list of the questions related to Nuh district have been answered as  'No sir',  today lauded the working style of the  Chief Minister.

"Besides, Chief Minister I also praise other Cabinet Ministers who have said 'Yes' instead of 'No' whenever any question has arisen for Nuh district. I urge Sh. Manohar Lal to advise the Cabinet to adapt his style of working for the development of Haryana and to follow his footsteps" said  Sh. Ilyas while praising the Chief Minister in Punjabi.

Earlier raising a question during the Question Hour, Sh Mohammad Iliyas asked regarding any proposal under consideration of the government regarding the construction of a sports stadium in Punhana, the Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sh. Sandeep Singh said that the sports stadium in Pingawan is 10-12 km away from Punhana and geo-mapping of all sports stadiums is being done.

He said that even then, if necessary, a sports stadium would be constructed in Punhana according to the interest of the sportspersons there.
