Chandigarh, April 5: In order to provide for the regulation of private security agencies and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto, the Haryana Cabinet which met under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal here today accorded approval to a proposal regarding the framing of ‘The Haryana Private Security Agencies Rules, 2022’. These Rules will come into force on the date of their publication in the official gazette.
Framing of these Rules by the State Government has been done in conformation to the Model Rules notified by the Government of India, hence ‘The Haryana Private Security Agencies Rules, 2022’ are proposed in supersession of the Haryana Private Security Agencies Rule 2009.
The Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, had notified the Private Security Agencies Central Model Rules, 2020 under section 24 of the Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005. The said Act aims to administer the functioning of private security agencies so that they operate within a legal framework and are accountable to a regulatory mechanism.
