Chandigarh, April 5 – To address the anomalies in the existing provisions of promotions in different cadres in Service Rules, Haryana Cabinet, held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today approved the amendment in the Haryana Mines and Geology Department Field (Group C) Service Rules,1998 as Haryana Mines and Geology Department Field (Group C) (Amendment) Service Rules, 2021.

Earlier, Service Rules allowed an official who joined as a clerk with no technical background to get inducted into technical stream by promotion as Inspector and eventually become eligible for promotion as Mining officer, a post which otherwise requires a minimum qualification of BE (mining) or Post Graduate Degree in Geology thereby compromising the technical capabilities of the Department.

However, as per the Haryana Mines and Geology Department Field (Group C) (Amendment) Service Rules, 2021 the Ministerial side and Technical side will be separated so as to attract qualified persons through Direct Recruitment of Mining Inspectors which is the first level/entry level of officials on the technical side and also to address certain anomalies existing in Service Rules of Group-C.
