Chandigarh, April 7- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that survey of Public Distribution System (PDS) is being done in all districts by linking Parivar Pehchan Patra. So far, this survey has been completed in Sirsa and Kurukshetra districts. About 80,000 new ration cards have been made in these two districts. Gradually, the data will come out after the survey is completed in other districts. The Chief Minister was interacting with the mediapersons on the occasion of the launch of various government schemes on Thursday.
The Chief Minister said that the verification of families having income less than Rs. 1.80 lakh is going on under the Parivar Pehchan Patra. After the survey, 46,000 new eligible families have been given ration cards in Sirsa and 33, 000 in Kurukshetra. He said that the ration cards of the families whose income was higher in the survey have been automatically discontinued. There are 10,000 such families in Sirsa and 16,000 in Kurukshetra. While responding to another question, he said that the annual income for availing old age pension is fixed at Rs 2 lakh. No changes have been made to this.
Government taking action against corrupt people
Responding to another question, the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the government is taking action against the corrupt. State Vigilance Committee has been expanded to the Division level. Apart from this, a high power committee has been constituted at the state level to take action against corruption. Action is being taken against the officers and employees involved in corruption. So far, more than 600 people have been caught in 71 such cases.
Kashmiri Pandits got their right
In response to another query, the Chief Minister said that we have given the Kashmiri Pandits their rights. Under the Vachanpurti Mission, the long-standing land dispute in Bahadurgarh has been settled and plots have been allotted to them. Apart from this, the government has given an amount of Rs. 5,000 per month to Kashmiri Pandits for 5 years after applying. Till now 5 families had applied for this. Of these, four families were given the benefit of this scheme. Thus, only one family is left.
