Chandigarh, May 17- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal extended greetings to the people on the occasion of World Telecommunication Day. He said that due to growth in telecom services, the entire world has become a global village. Today's era of Information Technology has transformed nearly every aspect of modern life.
In a message released here today on the occasion of World Telecommunication Day, the Chief Minister said that the objective of this day is to showcase the importance of Telecommunications and to raise awareness about its vital role in our lives. The Chief Minister said that this year, the theme of Telecommunication Day emphasizes the use of information technology and its importance to stay healthy, connected, and independent on a physical, emotional, and financial level.
He said that this day is also observed as Devarshi Narad Jayanti. According to mythology, Narad ji is known only as a messenger, which shows him to be associated with communication since ancient times. The Chief Minister said that during Covid-19 crisis, people availed facilities like telemedicine from doctors and could get their treatment while sitting at home due to telecommunication.
