Chandigarh, May 18- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that development works are being done in the state without any discrimination. The state is continuously moving forward on the path of development. To give more impetus to development, the government has launched Gram Darshan and Nagar Darshan Portals, on which any citizen can send the demand for any development work related to their area. Whatever works are feasible; they will be done on priority, said the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister said this after he visited CDLU on Wednesday for the inauguration and foundation stone laying programme of various projects of Sirsa district.

On this occasion, Sh. Manohar Lal inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 38 projects costing Rs. 368 crore. Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala, Power Minister, Sh. Ranjit Singh, MP, Smt. Sunita Duggal and other dignitaries also remained present on the occasion.

All formalities of handing over of land to construct medical college completed, college to be constructed soon in Sirsa

While interacting with mediapersons, Sh. Manohar Lal said that soon the construction work of medical college in Sirsa will start. He informed that the land has been given to the department for the construction of the said medical college in Sirsa at a cost of Rs. 988 crore. With the construction of a medical college, the people of the district and the nearby area will get the benefit of this medical college.

Farmers will be able to sell wheat in the market for the next ten days

Responding to queries of the mediapersons, the Chief Minister said that amid the ban on export of wheat, the government has decided that for the benefit of the farmers the procurement of wheat would continue in the mandis for the next ten days. So far, wheat has been procured at MSP in the mandis of the state. Farmers have sold wheat to private agencies at higher rates, therefore the government has been able to achieve only 50 percent of the procurement target. Regarding the export, the Chief Minister said that the export of wheat was banned by the government, but those who had already registered, they can still export.

No shortage of budget, send demand on Nagrik portal

Sh. Manohar Lal said that in the last seven and a half years, development works are being done equally in the entire state without any discrimination. Taking a step forward in the matters of development, the government has launched Gram Darshan and Nagar Darshan portals, on which from last three months, citizens have been sending demands for development works related to their area. He said that whatever works are feasible, it will be completed on priority basis, there is no shortage of budget with the government.

Objective to provide self-employment to one lakh families through Antyodaya

The Chief Minister said that under the Antyodaya Utthan Yojana, Antyodaya Melas were organized in the state, in which 2.5 lakh eligible families were invited. He said that 88,000 people came to the Melas, out of which more than 40,000 families applied under the schemes of the government and the departments approved it.

The Chief Minister informed that more than 22,000 families have got loan approval from the banks and the amount has also gone in the accounts of most. He said that the aim of the government is to raise the standard of living of one lakh poor families by providing them financial assistance through various means.

CET exam will be held in June or July

Responding to another question, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the schedule for the CET examination has been prepared and its policy for the same has also been drafted. The CET exam will be conducted in the last week of June or first week of July.

Panchayat and Civic Polls will be held soon

Sh. Manohar Lal, in response to a question regarding the elections, said that the preparations for the elections have been started by the Election Commission. The process of ‘wardbandi’ and reservation in rural areas will take two months. Polls of the City Municipal Council and Municipalities will be held soon. In Sirsa district, the elections of Municipal Council Dabwali, Municipality Rani and Ellenabad will be held in the first phase and the area of Municipal Council Sirsa and Nagar Palika Kalanwali has been increased, so it will take some more time.

Awareness campaign will be run regarding drug addiction

In response to question regarding drug addiction in the district, the Chief Minister said that the government is serious about the problem of drug addiction, an anti narcotics cell has been set up by the government. The cooperation of social organizations is also being taken in this. A campaign will also be run by Anti Narcotics Bureau in the next three months across the state, under which committees will be formed at the district, sub-division and village level and people will be made aware. The government is absolutely strict, police raids are being conducted to break the supply chain of drugs, intoxicants worth crore have been seized and destroyed and action is being taken against the accused.

On this occasion, Chief Minister’s Political Secretary, Sh. Krishna Bedi, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Ajay Singh Tomar, Superintendent of Police, Dr. Arpit Jain, ADC, Sh. Sushil Kumar, DMC, Smt. Gayatri Ahlawat, among others were present on the occasion.
