Chandigarh, May 24 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, during his visit to Karnal on Tuesday, inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of four development projects costing Rs.88.29 crore. During this, Karnal MP, Sh. Sanjay Bhatia, Indri MLA, Sh. Ramkumar Kashyap and Gharaunda MLA, Sh. Harvinder Kalyan were also present.
The Chief Minister inaugurated Shri Ghantakarna Mahaveer Manohar Dwar built by Municipal Corporation Karnal in the memory of Shri Atma Manohar Muni Ji Maharaj near Baldi Bypass on Karnal-Indri Road. This gate is located on NH-44, near the bus stand of New Karnal. An amount of Rs. 67.69 lakh 69 has been spent on this gate made of Dholpuri stone.
The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of micro irrigation project from Shiv Colony STP to Hakikat Nagar of Irrigation and Water Resources Department. This project will cost around Rs. 13.29 crore. Along with this, he also laid the foundation stone of micro irrigation project going from STP of Karnal city to various villages. An estimated amount of Rs. 65.29 crore will be spent on this project. This will benefit about 6400 acres of agricultural land of villages Ranwar, Sheikhpura, Gangogarhi, Uncha Samana, Bajida Jatan, Kutail, Kairavali, Amritpur Kalan, Mubarakabad, Alipur Majra, Kalon, Chaura.
Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal laid the foundation stone of another project of Irrigation and Water Resources Department for reconstruction of drain from Kairwali to Mundogarhi and excavation of Indri Escape from Burji No. 145000 to Burji No. 159000. This project, which will be constructed at a cost of about Rs. 9.3 crore, will save the agricultural land of villages Kairwali, Fazilpur, Majra, Chaura, Darulama, Tatarpur and Bahalolpur from floods.
