Chandigarh, June 20 - Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal on Monday gave a letter of appreciation to 3-year-old, Master Heyansh Kumar of village Babra Bakipur in Gurugram district for hoisting the National Flag at Mount Everest Base Camp and wished him good luck for future.

Sh. Manohar Lal said that the child has shown indomitable courage and determination at a very young age by hoisting the National Flag at Mount Everest Base Camp situated at the height of 5364 metre and has brought laurels to the state of Haryana.

The Chief Minister said that Haryana has an atmosphere that promotes sports to the extent that children take interest in sports from a very young age. While demonstrating the same spirit, Master Heyansh has brought laurels to the state at such a young age, as he is the youngest mountaineer to reach the base camp of Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world. The Chief Minister also congratulated Heyansh Kumar's parents for this achievement.

Master Heyansh comfortably sat in the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal’s lap and spoke at length with him. It seemed that the Chief Minister was recollecting his carefree childhood days while he was conversing with Heyansh in the same tone and tenor. In this candid conversation between the Chief Minister and the young achiever, the latter shared the turn of events that led him to climb the Mount Everest and the entire experience.

It is noteworthy that at the age of 3 years, 7 months and 27 days, Master Heyansh Kumar of Gurugram district shot to fame by becoming the youngest mountaineer in the world to achieve this milestone. He has demonstrated amazing determination by climbing Mount Everest Base Camp at such a young age and his base camp was at an altitude of 5,364 metres above sea-level. His journey was sponsored by Mankind Pharma. Master Heyansh Kumar completed his formal training in Himachal Pradesh. After this, on 23 April, 2022, he started this journey with his father Manjeet Kumar. Earlier this record was in the name of a child of 4.4 years, Advit Golechha.
