Chandigarh, August 29 - Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has extended warm greetings and best wishes to the people of the state, especially the sportspersons, on the occasion of National Sports Day.

In a message issued here today, the Chief Minister said that the birthday of Major Dhyan Chand, who is known as the 'Juggler of Hockey' in the sports world, is celebrated as National Sports Day.  He said that Haryana's policy of 'Padak Lao, Padak Badhao' is being appreciated all over the country.  This is increasing the enthusiasm of the players towards the game even more.

The Chief Minister said that now Haryana is being called the players' mine in the country and abroad.  The players here have proved their mettle in all kinds of sports.  He said that it is also a matter of pride for the players of Haryana that the Minister of State for Sports has also been a hockey player himself.
