Chandigarh, September 15- Under the able leadership of the Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal dedicated efforts are being made by the State Government to promote natural farming. State Government is already running several schemes to promote natural farming which has started yielding positive results as now farmers have started to shift from chemical farming to natural farming.

A review meeting will be held regarding natural farming at Gurukul, Kurukshetra on Friday.

Though we have become self-sufficient in food grains, certainly we have paid a big price for this self-sufficiency. We indiscriminately used chemical fertilizers, weedicides and pesticides to achieve self-sufficiency in food grains. Due to this the land, water, and air got polluted. Simultaneously because of this indiscriminate use, the agriculture production cost has increased but productivity has decreased. This is the reason that today farmers, especially the youth have preferred not to take up farming, said Sh. Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister said that natural farming is the honour and a way of serving mother earth along with being a key means of bringing prosperity to our lives.  Adopting natural farming will not only reduce the farming cost but will also give a boost to the income of the farmers from the first year only.

Natural farming will improve the health of the earth and people will also be able to get good quality products. Natural farming is such a subject wherein India has led the world for centuries, so now the time has come to move forward to further promote natural farming.

Notably, apart from Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, Gujarat Governor, Acharya Devvrat, Gujarat Chief Minister, Sh. Bhupendra Patel, Agriculture Minister of Gujarat, Sh. Raghavji Patel, Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. J.P Dalal, Secretary, Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Sh.
