Chandigarh, December 8- An important meeting was held between Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Sh. Bhupender Yadav and Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal at Haryana Bhawan in Delhi today.

During the meeting detailed discussion was held regarding the problem of waterlogging in the Gurgaon district due to the Najafgarh drain, to make the Aravalli area greener and develop big jungle safari in Gurgaon and Nuh districts.

Later, interacting with the media, after the meeting, Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister, Sh. Bhupender Yadav said that Manohar Lal-led government is doing unprecedented work regarding Aravalli and protecting the environment. 

He said that in today's meeting the problem of water logging due to the Najafgarh drain was discussed. 

The Union Minister further informed that a committee was constituted on this subject involving the Ministry of Jal Shakti, along with the Haryana Government and Delhi Government. Under the supervision of this Committee, the work of cleaning the Najafgarh drain is being done to restore the flow of water, he added. 

Sh. Bhupender Yadav said that it is the effort of the government to get people rid of water-logging and the channelize the water flow in the Najafgarh drain in such a way that there is no water-logging in the villages of Haryana and Delhi.

In response to a question, Sh. Bhupender Yadav said that under the leadership of Sh. Manohar Lal, the work of making a big safari is going on in Gurugram and Nuh districts. The plan to make safari has been approved, now after getting the approval of the central government, funds will be released for compensatory afforestation, he added. 

In today's meeting, factual information about all such subjects like registering the type of the land etc. was discussed. 

He said that the Sh. Manohar Lal wishes that the youth of that area should get employment, the village should develop, and ecotourism should come, but before that, the necessary action has been discussed today. 

I think satisfactory progress has been made on this subject, said the Union Minister. 

He said that discussions have been held with Sh. Manohar Lal on how to keep the part of Aravalli mountain range green in area like Mahendragarh and how more plantation can be done on it.
