Chandigarh, January 7 – The beneficiaries who have availed of free treatment facility under the ‘CHIRAYU Haryana’ (Comprehensive Health insurance of Antyodaya Units) scheme today got a golden chance to personally thank their Chief Minister for giving them such a beneficial health scheme.

While interacting with Sh. Manohar Lal via audio conference here today, one of such beneficiaries,  Bimla a resident of Faridabad district said that now she does not have to run from pillar to post to make financial arrangements to get better treatment facilities, as with her golden card issued under CHIRAYU, she has already availed free of cost health benefits of upto Rs. 1 lakh.

Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister, Bimla, said that she was suffering from a health ailment and while she was admitted to the hospital for her treatment, the medical expenses costing Rs. 1 lakh was borne by the State Government.

Echoing the same sentiments, Anil, a resident of Ambala Cantt, said that being a beneficiary of CHIRAYU, his treatment cost of up to Rs 45,000, was paid by the State Government, thus saving him from facing any kind of financial burden.  Another beneficiary from Jhajjar, Bittu said that he had undergone heart surgery but despite the hefty hospital bill, he availed free treatment.

Likewise, many other beneficiaries who interacted with the Chief Minister also expressed their gratitude to Sh. Manohar Lal and his government meticulously implemented this scheme for the welfare of the poor.

CHIRAYU Haryana Yojana proving to be a boon for Antyodaya families

While interacting with these beneficiaries, the Chief Minister said that with the vision of ‘Swasth Haryana’, CHIRAYU was launched. The scheme aims to extend state-of-the-art health facilities to the Antyodaya families. He said that this scheme also saves all the poor and needy from facing any financial burden occurring due to expensive treatment costs.   The State Government is constantly working to promote Shiksha, Swasthaya, Suraksha, Swabhiman and Swavlambhan, asserted Sh. Manohar Lal.

“Many times, poor and needy feel helpless as they are unable to bear the costly treatment cost. Understanding the pain of all such families, on November 21, 2022,  ‘CHIRAYU Haryana’ was launched to extend the Ayushman Bharat benefits to beneficiaries having an annual income limit of Rs.1.80 lakh,” shared Sh. Manohar Lal.

The Chief Minister informed that from November 21, 2022, till now, 10378 beneficiaries have availed of free treatment benefits and for this, the government has borne the expenditure of Rs 19.13 crore.

He further informed that Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi had launched Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana PMJAY in the year 2018. Earlier, 15,51,798 families in Haryana were covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.  But now the State Government has expanded the scope of the scheme at the expense of the state government. With this, 28,89,036 families are now being covered, shared Sh. Manohar Lal.

“We have resolved to celebrate the year 2023 as Antyodaya Arogya Varsh. ’Health for all' is our resolution. We are ensuring that no one, because of financial constraints, should face any difficulty in getting timely treatment,” added Sh. Manohar Lal.

So far more than 44 lakh  new golden cards generated under CHIRAYU 

Sh.  Manohar Lal informed that before CHIRAYU, golden cards of 28, 89,287 beneficiaries covered under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana were generated but now 44,15,771 new cards have been generated under the CHIRAYU. Thus the total number of such cards comes to  73 lakh.

“There are a total of 715 hospitals empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat scheme in the state, including 539 private hospitals and 176 government hospitals,” asserted the Chief Minister.

The Chief Minister said that now automated ration cards are being made as per the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) verified data. According to the fixed criteria of Rs. 1.80 lakhs annual income, 12 lakh new families have been included in the BPL list. If any beneficiary's name has been deleted due to wrong details in PPP, then they should get their details updated by contacting toll-free numbers 18001802087 and 1967.  After verification of the information entered by all such beneficiaries,  two-month due ration will be given to them, shared Sh. Manohar Lal.

He said through PPP, benefits of government schemes are being given to Antyodaya families in a transparent manner. However, some errors are being noticed in the PPP data. Thus, the citizens should visit the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner and SDM to get their data rectified.

On this occasion, the Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister and Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Dr. Amit Agrawal also remained present.
