Chandigarh, February 2 - Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today adopted 5 TB patients and provided TB kits to them under Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan. The Chief Minister stated that the Health Department is working hard to eliminate tuberculosis in the state five years before the deadline of 2030, thanks to the resolve of Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, he added. By making these significant efforts, Haryana will accomplish its goal of being TB-free by 2025.

Sh. Manohar Lal has urged industrialists, administrative officers, educational institutions, social organizations, non-governmental organizations and elected representatives of the state to join this cause and adopt TB patients and provide nutrition, emotional and social support to their families.

The Chief Minister said that in the year 2022, Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan was launched. Under this initiative, ensure additional diagnostic, nutritional, and vocational support are being provided to TB patients through the Ni-kshay 2.0 platform.

He said that any person or organization can help TB patients by registering themselves on Ni-kshay 2.0 web portal www.communitysupport.nikshay.in. and can serve as Ni-kshay Mitra, TB patients can also be selected according to the geographical conditions. After that, on the treatment of the adopted patient, one can provide assistance in the treatment with an amount of Rs. 400-500 in the form of monthly supportive diet for about 1 year. In this way, the participation of organizations in the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme will increase and the information and treatment of TB will reach the masses. This will lead to better nutrition of the patients and with the right treatment, the results will be highly positive. Additionally, the stress on patients and families will decrease.

The Chief Minister said that public cooperation is required at every level to achieve any target. That's why all citizens should cooperate in making TB free Haryana with their participation in the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme. He urged to make this campaign a mass movement so that Tb can be eradicated from the state.

On this occasion State Tuberculosis Officer, Dr. Rajesh, DTO, Dr. Parvinderjit, DPC, Lalitha, DPPM, Virender were also present.
