Chandigarh, February 2- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that no child would be deprived of the opportunity for growth. He added that our house and family are one and we should work with this spirit.

He said this today while interacting with the children in the meeting organized under Harihar Policy. Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Smt. Kamlesh Dhanda was also present on this occasion.

Sh. Manohar Lal further stated that if any child has any problem or need, the doors of his house are always open for all. Such children in the society, whom the parents have left or abandoned shall be nurtured and connected to the mainstream in child care institutions under the Harihar policy.

The Chief Minister said that the children who have been abandoned by their parents before the age of five years or surrender before the age of one year and who have completed 18 years of age while staying in child care homes, such children should get educational, financial assistance and employment.

He said that free school education, higher education including technical education, skill development and industrial training and thereafter, rehabilitation and financial assistance is being given till the age of 25 years or till marriage, whichever is earlier. He added that Rs. 8,000 per month is given as financial assistance to the eligible beneficiaries after that. He said that a one-time interest-free loan facility is also being given to the eligible beneficiary to buy houses in the state across Haryana. Under this policy, the beneficiary children are being given jobs on compassionate grounds and also provided economically weaker section status. On this occasion, the children presented a memento to the Chief Minister and the Chief Minister also honoured all the children.

On this occasion, Commissioner and Secretary, Women and Child Development Department, Smt. Amneet P. Kumar, Deputy Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sh. K K.Makarand Pandurang, Additional Director, (Admn.), Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture, Sh.  Vivek Kalia and other officers of the Women and Child Development Department were present.
