Chandigarh, February 7- Haryana Chief Minister today chaired the pre-budget consultation meeting with his Cabinet, Administrative Wing and sought suggestions from them before presenting the first budget of Amrit Kaal.
While chairing the meeting, Sh. Manohar Lal said that on the lines of the Central Government, Haryana too will present the state's first budget of Amrit Kaal.
“We aim to present a budget that ensures holistic development in the state while ensuring everyone's participation. In the general budget of the state for the year 2023-24, the focus will be on the economic and social upliftment of Antyodaya, farmers, labourers, promotion of industries, and health services. This budget will be for the welfare of every class and section,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
He said that Haryana will ensure its contribution to achieving Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi's vision to make India a $5 trillion economy and global powerhouse. For this, there is a need to increase growth in every sector, with special emphasis on further expanding Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
The Chief Minister said that on the lines of the Union Budget presented by the Central Government, the interests of all sections will be taken care of in Haryana's budget too. We will pay special attention to implementing all the new schemes that have been included in the Centre’s budget. In the State’s budget, special emphasis will be laid on the upliftment of last-mile citizen, along with education, health, employment, and women welfare and empowerment. Besides this, special attention will also be given to setting up new industries to further boost the employment graph in the state, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said that work will be done expeditiously on projects related to the optimum distribution and usage of available water. In addition, micro-irrigation will be promoted. According to the vision of the Central Government, the ongoing housing projects will be completed at a rapid pace with the aim of providing a roof over the heads of every needy.
Later interacting with the media, after the meeting, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the state budget for the year 2023-24 will be for the welfare of all sections. Emphasis will be laid on implementing more schemes for the welfare of the underprivileged in the budget.
He said that Haryana should get maximum benefits from the important projects announced in the recently presented Union Budget. He said that the funding for two projects of RRTS has been announced in the Union Budget, of which a benefit of Rs 3600 crore will be in Haryana’s kitty. Similarly, setting up of Nursing College with every Medical College was also discussed in the meeting.
The Chief Minister said that pre-budget meetings would also be held with other stakeholders in the coming days, after which a balanced budget would be presented after incorporating all the suggestions. The budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha will begin on February 20.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala, Health Minister, Sh. Anil Vij, School Education Minister, Sh. Kanwar Pal, Transport Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. J.P Dalal, Cooperation Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Dr. Kamal Gupta, Development and Panchayats Minister, Sh. Devender Singh Babli, Minister of State for Women and Child Welfare Development, Smt. Kamlesh Dhanda and Minister of State for Labour, Sh. Anoop Dhanak also remained present.
Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal, Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. D.S Dhesi, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Sh. T.V.S.N Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Finance Department, Sh. Anurag Rastogi, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Sh. V. Umashankar, Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Agrawal, and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
