Chandigarh, March 10 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal honoured women who have made remarkable contributions in various fields like education, culture, army, singing, art, medicine, social welfare, empowerment, sports, aviation and mountaineering etc.
A state-level ‘Samman Samaroh’ was organised on the occasion of International Women’s Day in Karnal on Friday.
Development and Panchayat Minister, Sh. Devender Singh Babli, Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Smt. Kamlesh Dhanda were also present on this occasion.
In recognition of the improvement in sex ratio, the Chief Minister awarded the Deputy Commissioners of the districts of Fatehabad, Ambala, and Jind with cash awards of Rs. 5 lakhs, Rs. 3 lakhs, and Rs. 2 lakhs, respectively.
Apart from these, for improving nutrition levels, the Deputy Commissioners of the districts of Faridabad, Narnaul, and Ambala received first, second, and third prize awards along with the cash reward of Rs. 2 lakh, Rs. 1 lakh, and Rs. 50,000 each.
The Chief Minister honoured Smt. Manju Sharma with Sushma Swaraj Award, Smt. Ritu Lather and Monika Sharma with Indira Gandhi Mahila Shakti Award, Smt. Vandana with Kalpana Chawla Shaurya Puruskar, Smt. Chandraprabha Madan with Lifetime Achievers Award.
Besides this, ANM/Nurse/MPW category award was bagged by Manisha from District Jind and Shiksha Devi, Kaithal, Sports Woman Award, Seema Punia, Sonipat, Shilpa Rani, Jind, Manpreet, Ambala City, Sharmila, Rewari, Santosh, Bhiwani, Poonam, Hisar, Suchika Tarial, Rohtak, Meenakshi, Jhajjar, Aishwarya, Bhiwani, Prem Somra, Panchkula, and Savita Malik, Kaithal were also honoured by the Chief Minister.
Similarly, Government Employee Award, ASI, Suman Devi, Headquarters from district Panchkula, Dr. Renu, District Panipat and Sheetal, Jhajjar, Social Worker Pooja Alyan, Women Entrepreneur, Richa Garg, Narnaul, Nominee of Stree Shakti Puraskar, Pooja Sharma, Gurugram, Anganwadi Worker Award, Jyotsna, Dadri, Anita, Kaithal, Rajni, Karnal, Santosh, Mahendragarh, Satish Kumari, Palwal, Durga, Rewari and Suman, Panipat, Commendation, Priyanka Punia, Panchkula, Geeta Rani, Jind, Seema Devi, Village Batta, Priya Asija, Bhiwani, Pooja, Rewari and Nirmala Devi, Jind was also honoured by the Chief Minister.
