Chandigarh, April 14: Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that for a permanent solution to the problem of drinking water in Palwal’s Khambi village, the village will be included in the Rs 200-crore Rainy-well project. Apart from this, the state government will consider the demand for Girls College in the village and the work of construction of three main roads of the area will be started soon, he said.

Also, on the request of the Brahmin Mahasabha, the Chief Minister instructed the concerned authorities to give 2,000 yards of land for Dharamshala on circle rate as per the rules from the vacant government land in Palwal.

Sh. Manohar Lal was interacting with the people during a Jan Samvad programme in Khambi village. He said that the state government is formulating various welfare schemes to provide benefits and facilities to the general public and uplift the last mile person. “For the last eight-and-a-half years, the government has been moving forward with the vision of all-round development of every section. This is the reason that today the public is openly appreciating the pro-people policies of the government,” he added.

Terming the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP) essential for the public, the Chief Minister said that the population in the village will be counted for the number of families who have got PPP made. He said that the families who have not got their PPP cards made should do it at the earliest as the government approves the grant amount for the development of the village according to the population.

During the programme, the Chief Minister was also apprised about several development works being done for Khambi village at a cost of Rs 17.12 crore.

Corruption will not be tolerated under any circumstances: CM

In the midst of Jan Samvad programme, the Chief Minister took strict cognizance of a complaint by a local youth, Hemant, who apprised him about bribe-taking in the name of police verification. On this, the Chief Minister directed the Superintendent of Police to take necessary action in this regard. He said that the government is working effectively to root out corruption and called upon the people to share information about the bribe-takers for strict action against them.

On the occasion, MLA Sh. Jagdish Nayar, OSD to Chief Minister, Sh. Jawahar Yadav, Media Advisor to Chief Minister, Sh. Amit Arya and other dignitaries were present.
