Chandigarh, June 3 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has given a big bonanza by laying the foundation stone of 8 pilgrimage projects of Kurukshetra Development Board in Karnal district to be completed at a cost of about Rs. 1,177 lakhs.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that Dharmakshetra Kurukshetra is a famous pilgrimage place across the world, where Lord Sri Krishna had recited the message of Bhagavad Gita for enlightening the world.
Foundation stone laid for these 8 pilgrimage projects
Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal inaugurated Prithvi Tirth in Balu village of Nissing block at a cost of Rs. 86.89 lakhs, Raghvendra Dasaratha Tirth in village Agondh at a cost of Rs. 112.11 lakhs, Mishrak Tirth at a cost of Rs. 159.31 lakhs in Nissing, Rs. 40 lakhs in Assandh for Dhan kshetra Tirtha.
Rs. 229.77 lakhs for Anjani tirath in village Ajanthali, Prokshat Tirath in village Patanpuri at a cost of Rs. 231.29 lakhs, Vedavati Tirtha in village Sitamai at a cost of Rs. 134.52 lakhs and Vyas Sthal pilgrimage at village Bastali at a cost of Rs 183.06 lakhs.
He said that earlier the Kurukshetra Development Board used to look after only the pilgrimages of Kurukshetra district, but since the formation of the BJP government, the stature of Gita Jayanti has completely transformed in Kurukshetra and across the globe.
Now Gita Jayanti has been celebrated internationally at a grand level, since then Dharmakshetra Kurukshetra is under the famous pilgrimage. Realizing the importance of 164 pilgrimages established in the periphery of 48 kos, renovation is being done by Kurukshetra Development Board.
He also said that Kurukshetra Development Board is also taking a decision to develop Tirth Parikrama so that the people of the village as well as the people from outside come for darshan at the centres of people's faith, this will increase the number of tourists and also increase the employment opportunity for the locals.
He said that it is the responsibility of the Kurukshetra Development Board as well as the local people to cooperate in maintaining the pilgrimage properly. For this, a committee should be constituted at the village level.
Nilokheri MLA, Sh. Dharam Pal Gonder, Kurukshetra Development Board's Honorary Secretary, Sh. Madan Mohan Chhabra, State General Secretary of BJP Advocate, Sh. Vedpal, District President, Sh. Yogendra Rana, Mayor, Smt. Renu Bala Gupta, Chief Minister's representative, Sh. Sanjay Bathla and Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Anish Yadav, Police on behalf of administration were present on the occasion. Superintendent Shashak Kumar Sawan and other dignitaries were present.
