Chandigarh, June 7- Haryana  Chief  Minister,  Sh. Manohar  Lal said that no government  or its administration can claim to be accountable and responsive unless it has an efficient and effective grievance redress mechanism.

He said that the sole purpose behind launching Jan Samvad portal, Nagar Darshan, Gram Darshan portal, CM window is to ensure that the voice of our citizens reaches us.

"Unlike previous governments, we have a  different way to work and serve the people. We believe in   reaching out to the last mile citizens, asserted Sh. Manohar  Lal  while chairing a key meeting with the Administrative Secretaries held here today.

He said that having a robust grievance redressal mechanism is the benchmark of any transparent government. To achieve  this benchmark,  Jan Samvad portal  has been launched. Further, ensuring complete  satisfaction of the complainant should be the main focus of any Administrative  Secretary while scrutinising   any complaint received on the  portal, added the Chief Minister.

While reviewing the redressal of the complaints received on the Jan Samvad portal, the Chief Minister said that having a user- friendly grievance redress mechanism is part and parcel of any government and its administration.

Jan Samvad Portal should become key platform for the complainant to get an easy solution to their grievances

The Chief Minister said that Jan Samvad Portal should become a key platform for the complainant to get an easy solution to their grievances.

He said that in the Jan Samvad, people have shared with him that they used to give several copies of their written complaints to various public representatives, but their applications used to get misplaced. Understanding this dilemma, we have launched the Jan Samvad portal so that no complaint goes unnoticed. Under this new IT setup, information regarding the written representation given by the people is digitally recorded on this portal and submitted to the concerned departments for further action.

Sh. Manohar Lal said that when a complaint or demand is submitted on this portal, the information is sent to the complainant through SMS. Following that, information regarding the action being initiated by the respective department and officer is also sent to the complainant via SMS.

Directing all the Administrative Secretaries, Sh. Manohar Lal said that the officers should check the Jan Samvad portal everyday and review how many complaints registered under their departments have been resolved.

Till now, of the total 8093 complaints/demands registered on the portal, 6642 have been already marked to different departments
