Chandigarh, June 14- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal said that the public servants should work for the welfare of the society by rising above the distinction between themselves and others. In order to develop the spirit of public service among the 3.5 lakh officers and employees of the state, now along with general personnel training, a target has been set to make them aware of moral values.

The Chief Minister said this while addressing the ‘Naetikta Shivir’ as the chief guest, organized by Haryana Institute of Public Administration (HIPA), Gurugram on Wednesday.

Sh. Manohar Lal said that all the officers should dedicate themselves to the public interest and act as public servants. He said that the purpose of this programme is that after joining the government service, the public servant should work with the spirit of responsibility of serving the society. He said that during the last eight-and-a-half-year tenure, work has been done on taking the state forward through social service. “Moving forward on this thinking, we will be able to make our state divine and glorious,” he added. 

Earlier, Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj also explained the subject of morality to the people present in the programme with various shlokas of Gita and Mahabharata related contexts.

Swami Sarvalokananda of Ramakrishna Mission also addressed the programme, stressing that transparency, accountability and credibility are very important for good governance. He said that ‘Naetikta Shivir’ will contribute significantly in the development of human resources of the state.

First of its kind programme in country: Chief Secretary

Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal while highlighting the outline of the programme launched by HIPA said that Haryana is the first state in the country from where the programme of bringing ethics and purity in conduct has been started. He said that all the officers and employees of the state will be connected with this programme.

Director General, Haryana Institute of Public Administration, Gurugram, Chandralekha Mukherjee expressed gratitude to the guests present in the programme and felicitated them by presenting mementos.

Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Sh. D.S. Dhesi, Principal Secretary Sh. V. Umashankar, Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, Divisional Commissioner, Gurugram, Sh. RC Bidhan, Chief Executive Officer, GMDA, Sh. PC Meena, Deputy Commissioner, Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Commissioner of Police, Kala Ramachandran, Additional Director, HIPA, Ashima Sangwan, Assistant Director, Rekha and other officers were present on the occasion.
