Chandigarh, June 20- Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Sh Nitin Gadkari today laid the foundation stone for the construction of Rs 1690 crore Karnal Greenfield 6-lane Ring Road project at a programme organised in village Kutail of district Karnal. Haryana Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal and Deputy Chief Minister, Sh Dushyant Chautala were also present on this occasion.
While addressing the gathering, Union Minister, Sh Nitin Gadkari said that the foundation stone of the 35 kilometer long Ring Road project to be built at a cost of about 1700 crores has been laid. This road would be constructed from Shamgarh on NH-44 of Karnal upto Barota Road. This would significantly help in reducing the congestion of Karnal city, he added

Union Minister, Sh Nitin Gadkari praised Haryana Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal saying that under his leadership Haryana has become a prosperous State . He said that Prime Minister, Sh Narendra Modi is constantly working for the welfare and upliftment of the poor and people belonging to deprived sections of the society . He said that the work which has been done under the leadership of Prime Minister in the last nine years is much more than the work done in 60 years of Congress regime. Good governance and development is our resolve, he said adding that the Modi Government at the Center and Sh Manohar Lal led Haryana Government are working with the spirit of Antyodaya . Development works are being done in every field, he further added.

Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari said that Indian Oil has started an industry in Panipat to make one lakh tonnes of bio-ethanol and 150 tonnes of bio-bitumen from stubble. They are now going to make bio aviation fuel instead of bitumen. A law has been made to put 2 percent bio aviation fuel in aeroplanes. We are exporting fossil fuel worth rupees 16 lakh crores. He said that a new era has started under the leadership of Prime Minister , Sh Narendra Modi. Today ethanol is being made from maize, bamboo and sugarcane juice. He said that if the farmer produces ethanol and CNG, then out of Rs 16 lakh crore which is being spent on imports, 10 lakh crore will also come in the farmer's pocket, and the farmer would become more prosperous.
Haryana’s national highways are at par with the national highways of America
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that today Haryana’s national highways are at par with the national highways of America. A lot of work is being done on roads in India. Ring road is being constructed in Delhi and after December, it will take only three hours to reach Jaipur. Earlier, it used to take 4.5 hours to travel from Meerut to Delhi but now it takes only 45 minutes. Similarly, now it will take two hours to travel from Delhi to Dehradun and 1.5 hours from Delhi to Haridwar.
MLA Harvinder Kalyan thanked Union Minister and Chief Minister for giving gift to Gharaunda Assembly Constituency
While describing today as a historical day, MLA Gharaunda Sh Harvinder Kalyan said that the foundation stone of such a big project has being laid . He said that under the leadership of Union Minister, Sh Nitin Gadkari, the network of national highways has been developed at a rapid pace. He said that Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal has given several development projects to this area. It is a matter of happiness that 70 percent of this Ring Road project falls in Gharaunda assembly constituency. With the construction of this Ring road, this area would touch new heights of development, he added.
