Chandigarh, June 25– The Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal underscored the importance of safeguarding the interests of landowners as the government undertakes the task of laying power lines that traverse their farmlands and fields. While addressing officers of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam at the Huda Convention Center in Faridabad on Sunday, the Chief Minister advocated for the development of a policy that would protect the rights of landowners and ensure equitable compensation as per established regulations. This approach seeks to guarantee the contentment of all landowners affected by these power projects.

During the meeting, Sh. P.K. Das, Chairman of Power Corporations through video conferencing updated the Chief Minister on the current status of the power projects. Additionally, Sh. Mohammed Shayin, Managing Director of Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam, provided a detailed overview of various ongoing projects undertaken by the corporation. He highlighted the progress of the construction of a new power line for high-speed power supply, extending from the 400 KV substation at Prithla to the substation at Sector-78. Notably, the farmers from Tigaon and Dayalpur villages have requested an increase in the compensation amount. The foundation work for approximately 124 towers has been completed, covering more than a dozen villages in Prithla and Tigaon along this 29.5-kilometer-long power line.

The Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal directed the officers to formulate policies that prioritize the welfare of farmers, ensuring their benefits. He emphasized the importance of effective coordination among the Power Corporation officials to address the concerns of farmers promptly. The Chief Minister stressed that the government is committed to serve the public and work towards their welfare, without any discrimination. He further expressed that it is the moral responsibility of every individual to provide positive cooperation for the successful implementation of development projects.

Sh. Manohar Lal reiterated that the interests of the farmers should never be neglected. Accordingly, he called for the creation of a comprehensive policy for all landowners affected by the power projects, accompanied by fair and proper compensation adhering to existing regulations.

Recognizing power as a cornerstone of development, Sh. Manohar Lal highlighted the government's efforts to provide uninterrupted 24-hour power supply to citizens across the state. As electricity forms the foundation of numerous essential services and industries, Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited is dedicated to deliver sufficient power supply through improved infrastructure and new transmission power lines. Consequently, power utilities have significantly reduced line losses, for which the officers of the corporation deserve commendation.
