Chandigarh, July 15– While taking a significant decision in the interest of farmers and labourers, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal today announced that the Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteens established in mandis of the state would remain open in off-season also. Earlier, these canteens used to be operational during procurement season only.
Sh Manohar Lal made this announcement while presiding over a review meeting of Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board (HSAMB) here today. Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh J.P. Dalal and Chairman, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board Sh, Aditya Devi Lal were also present in the meeting.
25 Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteens are operational in various mandis of the state
Sh Manohar Lal said that at present 25 Atal Kisan Mazdoor Canteens are operational in various mandis of the state, where food is being provided to farmers and labourers at a subsidized rate of Rs 10. There is a proposal to set up 15 more such canteens in different mandis of the State and these would be started soon, he added.
Nodal officer should be appointed to monitor the roads of five districts given to Zila Parishad
The Chief Minister directed that the Chief Engineer of Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board should be appointed as the nodal officer to monitor the roads of five districts of the state which have been given to the Zila Parishad. He also directed that after conducting mapping, all necessary facilities should be provided in the mandis as per the requirement. Besides, he directed the officers to carry out a survey to identify “Kacha Rasta” of 5 Karam in the State and submit report in this regard at the earliest.
He said that under the Mukhya Mantri Kisan Evam Khetihar Mazdoor Jiwan Suraksha Yojana, financial assistance is provided to farmers in case of accidents during farming operations. In the year 2022-23, financial assistance amounting to Rs 21.64 crore has been provided in 1334 cases. Apart from this, HSAMB has integrated 108 mandis with e-NAM platform.
In the meeting, issues related to Apple, Fruit and Vegetable Market at Pinjore, new and ongoing works of HSAMB and CM announcements were also discussed in detail.
On this occasion, Chief Minister, Sh Manohar Lal also launched mobile Application 'Meri Fasal-Mera Byora'. With this, farmers would be able to register their entire crop sitting at home. He said that Rs 100 would be given to the farmers, who register their entire land on portal by July 31.
Additional Chief Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Sh Sudhir Rajpal, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sh V. Umashankar, Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sh K. Makarand Pandurang, Chief Administrator, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board Sh Mukesh Kumar Ahuja, Director, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Sh Narhari Singh Bangar and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.
