Chandigarh, July 25 - Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal today announced that the farmers who have suffered a total crop loss will get compensation of Rs. 15,000 per acre. He said that registration of completely damaged crops is being done in the areas affected by floods in the state. Besides this, the loss of the farmers whose fields have receded is being assessed.
Along with this, the survey and verification work of those farmers who have resown paddy will be started with immediate effect by the officers and its report of the same will be prepared around July 31. The compensation would also be given to the farmers who resown paddy as per the said report. As per information, crop damage in Kurukshetra has been reported on about 15,000 acres , said Sh. Manohar Lal while chairing a meeting of officers of Agriculture Department at Sector-7 in Kurukshetra district. Earlier, the Chief Minister also took stock of the flood-affected areas in village Bhiwani Khera late evening on Tuesday.
He said that the construction work of VLD College will be started soon on 10 acres of land in Bhiwani Khera village of Kurukshetra district. For this project, the Gram Panchayat has already given 10 acres of land in the name of Lala Lajpat Rai Veterinary University, Hisar.
The Chief Minister said that 12 districts have been affected by the flood. Of these, 6 districts are adjacent to the Yamuna and 6 districts are adjacent to the Ghaggar. Continuous reports are being taken from all these districts. There is still a possibility of rain till August 15, but this time it is likely to have less impact. The people of the state should not worry as the state government is working on a war footing level to provide every possible help to those stuck in the flood affected areas, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
He further said that in these 12 districts, the government and the administration have worked to provide all possible relief to the people. Social workers and religious organizations have also cooperated a lot in this relief work.
The Chief Minister said that after taking stock of Bhiwani Khera village in Kurukshetra, this issue of resowing of paddy also was raised before him. Therefore to address the same immediate directions have been issued to the officers concerned to conduct surveys along with the verification of the farmers who have resown paddy, said the Sh. Manohar Lal.
A provision will be made on the Meri Fasal-Mera Byora portal. Those farmers who are resowing their crop will also be able to register themselves on this portal. After this, once the correct figures are obtained, the complete data of loss of crops will be revealed, because the farmer who has resown paddy must have incurred the expenditure on seeds, fertilizers etc. Therefore, some amount will definitely be given to these farmers as compensation. This work will be completed around July 31, said the Chief Minister.
