Chandigarh, August 16- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal’s efforts to secure overseas employment opportunities for the State youth are yielding consistent success. As part of this ongoing initiative of the state government, today, the prominent global hospitality firm OYO has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU), Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited (HKRNL), and the Foreign Cooperation Department. The primary objective of this MoU is to create job prospects for young individuals in various job roles within the hospitality sector in European nations such as Denmark.
During the signing ceremony of the MoU held at Sant Kabir Kutir, Chief Minister emphasized that ensuring optimal employment for the youth of the state remains a foremost priority.
“By facilitating partnerships between educational institutions, government agencies, and private sector companies like OYO, the state government is actively working to enhance its young population's employability and skill sets. Today’s MoU signing initiative not only will contribute to the economic development of the state but also fosters international cooperation and cultural exchange through the movement of skilled workers,” said Sh. Manohar Lal.
He said that the youth is a significant asset, and creating employment opportunities abroad will lead to substantial improvements in their lives.
The Chief Minister also shared the outline of a plan in which the HKRNL will collaborate with the OYO Company. Under this plan, they will select youngsters registered on HKRNL who will receive skill training aligned with the specific job requirements identified by the company. Vishwakarma Skill University will be responsible for providing this training and awarding the corresponding certificates, shared Sh. Manohar Lal.
He further shared that once the training is completed, the process of facilitating overseas employment for these youths will be managed by the Foreign Cooperation Department. The state government has taken the initiative to establish a dedicated overseas placement cell aimed at offering employment prospects in foreign countries to the youth, said the Chief Minister.
Incorporating the principles and objectives outlined in key government initiatives for skill development such as 'Skill India' and 'Vishwakarma Scheme' announced by the Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi, the program aims to enhance students' skill sets, broaden their horizons, and equip them with the tools needed to excel in a competitive global environment.

Earlier speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, Sh. Raj Nehru, stated,” This collaboration with OYO is a significant milestone for our university. It will bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, allowing our students to learn from experts and contribute to the global hospitality landscape.
Meanwhile, Founder and CEO, OYO, Sh. Ritesh Agarwal expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister for his visionary initiative in promoting skill development. He said that the signing of this MoU has encouraged the company to take another important step and send fresh out of university bright talent for technical and vocational roles in our vacation homes business in various European countries such as Denmark, Netherlands, etc.
These trained students will also be given an allowance for this entire programme. OYO and Shri Vishwakarma Skills University will facilitate on-the-job training across OYO's vacation home business in countries such as Denmark to provide students with hands-on experience and exposure to international hospitality.
