Chandigarh, Sept 6 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has announced a change in the criteria for filling sanctioned posts such as Chowkidar (watchmen) and Sweepers in villages. Instead of considering the population as per the 2011 census, the data recorded in the Parivar Pehchan Patr (PPP) up to December 31, 2022, will now be the basis for these positions. These posts are sanctioned based on village populations.

The Chief Minister made this announcement during a direct interaction with the public at a Jan Samvad programme held in Dhana Kalan village within the Hansi assembly constituency in Hisar district. He also orders the suspension of District Sports Officer for their absence during the program.

Mr. Manohar Lal said that the present government's goal is the development of Haryana and its people. The government is committed to the 5S mantra: education, health, self-reliance, security and self-respect. In the spirit of Antyodaya, every action taken by the state government is aimed at benefiting the underprivileged. The government's various online portals have proven to be effective in delivering the benefits of government schemes and programmes to citizens in the comfort of their homes.

During the program, the Chief Minister informed that old-age pensions of Dharampal and Satvir from the village were processed and made without them having to leave their homes. He personally presented cards on the stage to village elders Parmanand, Shanti Devi, Ramkumar, Ratan and Jagjivan, regarding the commencement of their old-age pension benefits.

Mr. Manohar Lal also announced several development initiatives for Dhana Kalan village, including the provision of equipment and staff for the village sports stadium, concrete road construction to the cremation ground under the Shivdham scheme, approval for a community building, library, repairs to the village primary school building, construction of a dharamshala and Gaushala on a four-acres of land. He said that the state government has increased the budget for Gaushalas for 10 times and will allocate funds to those Gaushalas that care for destitute cattle. Moreover, fines will be imposed on individuals who allow their cattle to roam freely.

On this occasion, Member of Parliament Sh Brijender Singh expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister and expressed hope that more development work will be undertaken in the village with the Chief Minister's involvement. MLA Sh Vinod Bhayana welcomed the Chief Minister and urged the fulfilment of development-related demands for the area.

Officers of the district administration were also present on this occasion.
