Chandigarh, October 6 – Giving a major relief to the people of the state, Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal has announced to complete waiver of taxes and penalties on outstanding property tax, providing a substantial direct benefit to property owners around Rs 8000 crore. Besides this, the Chief Minister also announced a 15 percent rebate on the principal outstanding property tax, giving property owners an extra benefit of approximately Rs 1200 crore.
The Chief Minister was addressing a press conference held here today.
Taking a significant decision aimed at safeguarding its residents from the hazards posed by high-voltage power lines, the Chief Minister said that Haryana Government has decided to shift 33,000 volts (KV) and 11,000 volts (KV) power lines passing over colonies, houses, phirnis, parks, ponds, schools etc. In this regard, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam, (UHBVNL) and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVNL) have prepared a proposal to shift all such lines, which has been approved.
The Chief Minister said that in view of public interest, the present state government had launched a campaign of laying power lines over houses in the year 2016, on which an expenditure of more than Rs 112.17 crore was incurred, which was borne by the government. In this sequence, the Haryana government has once again decided to start a similar campaign, for which a provision of Rs 151 crore has been made, shared, Sh. Manohar Lal.
The Chief Minister said shift the high tension lines in the state, a proposal worth about Rs 96 crore has been prepared for shifting the lines at 2707 places in 10 circles of UHBVN. Under this, the estimated cost will be Rs 78.35 crore on 11000-volt lines and Rs 17.30 crore on 33 KV lines. UHBVN includes Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Karnal, Panipat, Sonipat, Rohtak and Jhajjar circles. Similarly, shifting of lines in 11 circles of DHBVN is estimated to cost more than Rs 55 crore. This area includes Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Jind, Bhiwani, Narnaul, Rewari, Gurugram-II, Gurugram-II, Faridabad and Palwal, shared Sh. Manohar Lal.
