Chandigarh, November 5 - Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal, in response to a complaint regarding the non-dispatch of electricity bill, directed the State Electricity Department Superintendent Engineer to take immediate action against the responsible officer. When a consumer wants to pay the electricity bill and his bill is not being sent, it is unacceptable. The Chief Minister called for a thorough investigation into the matter and the immediate suspension of the employee responsible for this lapse.
The Chief Minister gave these directions during Jan Samvad Program held at ward number 19 at village Ramnagar in Karnal district today.
During a public interaction, Sh. Manohar Lal disclosed that the government has successfully processed the pensions for one lakh individuals who have reached the age of 60 in the state, based on data from their parivar pahchan patra. This achievement has enabled the underprivileged to begin receiving benefits from various government welfare programs.
Chief Minister further stated that only three out of the 26 Jan Samvad programs in his constituency remain, and these will be organized shortly. He emphasized that the BJP government, during its nine years in rule, has instituted transformative changes in the system. Now, every citizen can directly contact the government online, eliminating the need for individuals to make trips to Delhi or Chandigarh to meet with Chief Minister and ministers. The government has streamlined data management through a PPP, resulting in the creation of 12 lakh new ration cards. In a notable move, individuals with annual incomes exceeding Rs 3 lakh have been incorporated into the Ayushman Bharat scheme. To enroll in the scheme, such individuals will be required to personally contribute Rs 1500 for their insurance premium.
During this occasion, Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal actively addressed people's concerns, including issues related to Ayushman cards, delays in receiving old-age pensions, high electricity bills, income adjustments through PPP and pending job appointments. He provided instructions to officials concerned to resolve these matters promptly. In response to a complaint regarding income-related inaccuracies in PPP, it was conveyed that a survey would be conducted to rectify these errors. Subsequent actions would be taken based on the survey report.
In a response to a concern raised by a disabled individual, Chief Minister shared that 80 lakh Ayushman cards have already been issued, and just yesterday, approval was granted for an additional 14 lakh new cards. 1.41 crore cards are to be issued, extending healthcare coverage to a substantial population.
On this occasion, BJP District President Yogendra Rana, Karnal Municipal Corporation Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, Chief Minister's representative Sanjay Bathla, former MLA Bakshish Singh Virk, Deputy Commissioner Anish Yadav, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abhishek Meena, SP Shashank Kumar Sawan and others were remain present.
