Chandigarh, Nov 5 - In a move to improve students' access to distant schools, Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal announced to introduce an innovative scheme “Chatra Parivahan Suraksha Yojana”. Under this, Transport Department will provide bus services for villages with more than 50 students attending far-flung schools and in villages with 30 to 40 students, mini buses will be made available. In villages where the student count falls between 5 to 10, the Education Department will step in to provide the necessary transportation support.
The Chief Minister announced this while addressing the people at Jan Samvad Program held at village Ratangarh in Karnal district.
The scheme which involves the provision of a transportation system for students will commence from Ratangarh village starting on Monday. The Roadways Department will operate buses, which will be stationed at the Rattangarh village at 7 am to transport students to school and back home. Following the successful implementation in Karnal, this scheme will be extended to the entire state. Villages with 5 to 10 children will have access to facilities like auto-rickshaws. This transportation service will be offered to students free of cost. The expenses will be incurred through the District Education Department. This initiative is expected to benefit a significant number of school-going students throughout Haryana.
Earlier, the Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal addressed the concerns of the villagers in Ratangarh. He extended pension benefits to Jagdish, a resident of Jundla, and Dayanand, a resident of Ratangarh. In addition, he facilitated the provision of a sports infrastructure for the local youth, initiating discussions with the land owner to build 2 or 3 karam roads to reach the 10 houses of the dera located between Ratangarh and Daulatpur villages and providing new electricity connections in the village, provided a rickshaw to Om Prakash, a resident of the village, through the Red Cross. In response to the request from Priyanka, a daughter of the village, the Chief Minister committed to concreting the drain adjacent to the village before the rainy season. In response to a request from village daughters, he assured the arrangements for lighting on the road from the main road to the village through Panchayati Raj Fund.
The Chief Minister revealed that out of the 26 locations, comprising 20 wards and 6 Panchayats within the Karnal Assembly constituency, the grievances of the people have been addressed in 23 of these areas through the Jan Samvad program. Notably, the majority of the complaints received during this period have been successfully resolved.
Sh. Manohar Lal said that the state government is proactively engaging with villages and wards through Jan Samvad program to address the issues and concerns of the most marginalized individuals in society. The government has effectively extended the benefits of various schemes by implementing the Parivar Pehchan Patra system. Farmers are now receiving their land records (fard) through an online system, streamlining the process. Additionally, the disbursement of pensions for the elderly has been automated, with funds being directly deposited into bank accounts. The government has taken the noteworthy step of providing pensions to unmarried individuals above 45 years of age and widowers above 40 years of age.
Furthermore, it has been decided to increase the pension amount by Rs 250 starting from January 2024, with eligible beneficiaries will receive a monthly pension of Rs 3,000. The government has expanded healthcare access through the Ayushman and Chirayu Yojana, offering treatment for various ailments to 45 lakh families out of 70 lakh across the state, which accounts for approximately 65 percent of families in Haryana.
On this occasion, Mayor Renu Bala Gupta, District BJP President Yogendra Rana, Deputy Commissioner Anish Yadav, Superintendent of Police Shashank Kumar Sawan, and other officials and BJP leaders were also present.
