Chandigarh, November 9 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal's Jan Samvad has proven to be an effective platform for the people, providing a direct channel to express grievances and interact with the Chief Minister. This initiative has enabled individuals to voice their concerns directly to the highest office. Additionally, during these interactions, the Chief Minister has often announced new development projects or initiatives in response to the issues raised by the public, reflecting the government's commitment to address community needs.
Continuing the same league, during the Jan Samvad organized in Pabani Kalan village in the Yamunanagar’s Sadhaura Assembly constituency today, the Chief Minister announced that Phirni of 5 major Villages of Sadhaura Assembly Constituency will be paved. Furthermore, other villages will also be included in the next phase.
Speaking directly to the people, the Chief Minister said that in the present government's nine-year tenure, substantial development work has been done in every sector of the state, despite a significantly lower budget compared to the previous government. Earlier, only 15 paise out of 100 sent from the Centre used to reach the ground.
“We've clamped down on corruption, and now every single penny sent for development is being spent on development projects”, said Sh. Manohar Lal.
He said that recently, the sugarcane farmers were given a significant gift as the price of sugarcane was raised from Rs. 372 to Rs. 386 per quintal, and for the next year, the price has been fixed at Rs. 400 per quintal, the highest in the country. He expressed that no one could have imagined such a hike in sugarcane prices. This exhibits the government's farmer-friendly approach, said the Chief Minister.
The Chief Minister said that the state government has introduced PPP, a unique scheme, ensuring tailored programs for every income group. It's a matter of happiness that almost 100 per cent of people have obtained their PPP Cards, and any discrepancies are being rectified.
He said that no needy person should be deprived of treatment due to a lack of money. For this purpose, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi introduced the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, providing free healthcare services of up to Rs. 5 lakh annually to economically weaker families. 95 people in Pabani Kalan have availed this scheme, and the government has spent Rs. 28.52 lakh on their treatments.
Sh. Manohar Lal clarified that a beneficiary's name is automatically included in the old age pension scheme on turning 60. Even today, the Chief Minister handed over certificates to 10 beneficiaries in Pabani Kalan.
The Chief Minister's approach deeply moved the people. At the request of a village head, he immediately accepted the demand to provide a free tricycle to a specially-abled child through the Red Cross Society since the child faced difficulties in commuting for studies.
The Chief Minister stressed that whether someone is helpless, distressed, or deprived, Manohar Sarkar is definitely with them. Discussing employment, he said that in the past nine years, government jobs were given in the state based on merit, whereas in previous governments, jobs were given based on recommendations and money.
In response to this, the village's youth stood up and expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for transparently providing jobs in the state. Sh. Manohar Lal further shared that in Pabani Kalan village, 6 youngsters and a total of 1952 people in the entire district have received government jobs without any expenses or bribes.
The Chief Minister said that the work of drains and streets in the village should be done with Panchayat funds by the village head. If the funds run out, the government will provide additional funds. He said that the Panchayat Samiti, District Council, and Municipal Corporation should first utilize their funds for development work.
He said that a survey will soon be conducted to provide facilities like community centres and community halls where needed. Additionally, under the Shivdham scheme, arrangements for walls, paved roads, water, and shades are being made at the cremation grounds in the villages. Beautification work for ponds is also underway in all the state's villages, including those in the Sadhaura Assembly constituency, said the Chief Minister.
Deputy Commissioner, Captain Manoj, Superintendent of Police, Sh. Ganga Ram Punia and other officers also remained present on this occasion.
