Chandigarh, February 25- Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the newly constructed Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy in village Devarkhana of the Jhajjar district from Rajkot, Gujarat. Haryana Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal presided over the program at Devarkhana. MP Dr. Arvind Sharma, Sh Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, former Minister Sh OP Dhankhar were prominently present in the program.
Chief Minister Sh Manohar Lal said that Haryana has become the first state in the country to provide universal health cover.
Under the Chirayu Ayushman Bharat scheme, a member of the Antyodaya family has the facility of free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh, while a nominal contribution is given by a family with an annual income of Rs 3 lakh, Rs 4000 by a family with an annual income of Rs 3 lakh to Rs 6 lakh, families with annual income above Rs 6 lakh can avail the benefits of Chirayu Ayushman Bharat Scheme by paying an annual contribution of Rs 5000.
He stated that we have opened Vyamshallas in every village, and wellness centers are also being established. The poor have the foremost claim on the government treasury. Our government has initiated numerous schemes for the welfare of the impoverished. Through programs like PPP, the benefits of these schemes are reaching eligible individuals in a transparent manner. He remarked that this is the first project of its kind in the field of AYUSH medicine in Haryana by the Central Government. The inauguration of this institute will benefit people from Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan.
The Chief Minister emphasized that India's traditional medical system extends beyond mere treatment; it embodies a holistic science of life. Today, the modern world's lifestyle is conducive to the emergence of new diseases daily. Therefore, understanding our ancient and authentic medical system is paramount in addressing this challenge.
Chief Minister highlighted that Ayurveda stands as the world's ancient and authentic medical system. Today presents a golden opportunity as the Prime Minister of the country, Sh Narendra Modi, inaugurates a significant institute related to AYUSH. This institute marks the beginning of a new era in the field of Ayurveda. He emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's historic efforts in connecting every citizen with Yoga and Ayurveda. The global recognition of the Indian yoga system has been strengthened by the celebration of World Yoga Day.
Former Minister Sh Omprakash Dhankhar and MP Dr Arvind Sharma and Sh Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India also spoke on this occasion.
Union Health Minister Sh Mansukh Mandaviya, Union AYUSH Minister Sh Sarbananda Sonowal also joined virtually from Rajkot with Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi. Dr. Raghavendra Rao, Sh Satyajit Paul and other dignitaries were present on this occasion.
