- Chandigarh, July 2 - Haryana Government has decided to set up a new Traffic Police Station in Police district Hansi. With this, the number of traffic police stations will increase to 23 in the state.
- While disclosing this here today, Director General of Police Mr B.S. Sandhu said that Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal has approved the creation of new Traffic Police Station in Hansi. He said a decision to set up a new traffic police station has been taken in view of the rapid traffic volumes on the roads in the town, which is located on the both sides of national highway between Hisar and national capital Delhi. This move would help in tackling the issue of congestion and unregulated traffic in the town.
- The DGP said that presently 22 traffic police stations are functional in the state including one each in 20 districts and two in Gurugram. He said that the Chief Minister had also announced the setting up six new traffic police stations in the state’s jurisdiction on Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) and Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) highways, one each in district of Sonipat, Jhajjar, Gurugram, Mewat, Palwal and Faridabad to regulate traffic on the expressway.
- Mr Sandhu also thanked the Chief Minister for giving his consent for the creation of seven new police stations in Commissionerate of Police, Faridabad. This would also help in further strengthening the law and order in view of the increase in population and rapid urbanization, he added.
- He said that Police Department had also launched a month-long drive to strictly deal with the traffic violators especially the motorists without helmets on the national highways in the state during June 2018.
