  • Chandigarh, June 30–The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, has said that the priority of the state government is to provide good governance, and, in this direction, our vision is quite clear.
  • He was speaking at the valedictory function of the second batch of Chief Minister’s Good Governance Associates (CMGGAs) held in Gurugram, today. The CMGGAs shared their experiences and expressed gratitude towards the Chief Minister for making them part of his team, and, for his guidance. 
  • Describing CMGGA Programme as a unique model, the Chief Minister said other states of the country were also studying this model. Good Governance Day was celebrated in Haryana on December 25, 2014. New experiments are being made to serve the people better and to redress theie grievances.
  • Through CMGGA, efforts have been made to energise the system so that people get more facilities. The working of CMGGAs has been appreciated by the people, and by those in government and in the administration. Congratulating the CMGGAs, the Chief Minister said, “You all have worked with the feeling of We (Hum) not with the feeling of Me (Main)”.
  • The Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, had also provided a chance to the corporate sector to work in government sector. The young generation has both passion and ambition to take the country further and forward. The CMGGAs have played a significant role in successful implementation of Antyodaya Saral, Saksham Haryana, CM Window, Harpath, SMGT, Swachhta App, Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Police Community Liaisoning, Swachh Bharat Mission and e-Office.
  • The Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Rakesh Gupta, thanked the Chief Minister for his able guidance to the CMGGA programme. Though the tenure of second batch of CMGGAs has ended on June 30, but they would continue working on Antyodaya Saral Kendras and Saksham Yuva (Academic) until the new batch joins.
  • The new batch of CMGGAs has been selected for 2018-19 and their training is under progress through knowledge partner Ashoka University. The CMGGAs would assume charge in all districts on July 15. This year, more than 28,000 applications were received for the CMGGA programme whereas the number was only 1900 last year.
  • The Chief Minister gave experience certificates to all CMGGA of the second batch.
  • Others present on this occasion included, Vice-Chancellor of Ashoka University, Mr Pratap Bhanu Mehta, Deputy Commissioner, Gurugram, Mr. Vinay Pratap Singh, and other officers associated with the CMGGA programme.
  • Chandigarh, June 30–The Haryana Government is considering a proposal to provide land for setting up press clubs in various districts of the state. Any proposal received in this regard from journalist organisations working in the districts, would be considered. 
  • This was disclosed by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, while presiding over a meeting of District Information and Public Relations Officers in Gurugram, today. On this occasion, online application system was launched for receiving applications from mediapersons for pension on website saralharyana.gov.com
  • Soon, applications would also be invited on this website for accreditation of mediapersons. The Chief Minister got an online application form for pension from Mr. Mahavir Mittal, a journalist of Jind.
  • He said Information and Public Relations Officers should maintain good relations with journalists so that people continue to get information on the development works and welfare policies of the government through mediapersons. “In future, whenever I visit any district, I would definitely visit the media centre there”, he added.
  • Mr. Manohar Lal said the present state government had launched various schemes, projects and policies for the welfare of the people. If there is any feedback regarding these schemes and policies, it should be shared directly with the government so that in future, these could be further improved and people could get more benefits. 
  • Addressing the meeting, the Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Mr. Sameer Pal Srow, said the way deputy commissioners did night stay in  villages, the District Information and Public Relations Officers and Assistant Information and Public Relations Officers would, along with their teams, would also hold meetings with sarpanches at block level, and prepare stories on the successful works carried out by them in their respective areas, and get these published. 
  • Besides, the Ek Sudhar Programme Cell would prepare films on the achievements and development works of the present state government and ensure their screening. 
  • Others present at the meeting included Media Advisor to the Chief Minister, Mr. Rajiv Jain, Chairman, Haryana Housing Board, Mr. Jawahar Yadav, Principal OSD to Chief Minister, Mr. Neeraj Daftuar, and other senior officers of the department.
