  • Chandigarh, May 28- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has said that separate registry of each floor in Gurugram will be permitted. Earlier the Government has given permission for the construction of house upto fourth floor.
  • The Chief Minister was speaking during a function organized by Punjabi Biradari Mahasabha in Gurugram.
  • Mr Manohar Lal said, “Social organizations are doing a good job, they play an important role in rooting out the social evils of the society like female foeticide, drug addiction.” He urged the social organizations to contribute in strengthening the spirit of Haryana Ek-Haryanvi Ek.
  • During the function, the Chief Minister honoured eight elderly persons of 95 years of age and above.  
  • In view of demands presented by the Punjabi Biradari Mahasabha, he said that actions were being taken to bring colonies developed by private builders under the limits of the Municipal Corporation (MC), Gurugram. So far, six colonies of the district have been included in the MC area and soon, Sushant Lok-I, II, III and DLF-I, II and III would also be included. The mahasabha had raised this demand, as these colonies lacked public facilities, he added.
  • Regarding demand of providing two acre land for the construction of Punjabi Bhawan in Gurugram, he said that first identify land in the area of MC, after which, according to the rules of the state government, the land would be given to the mahasabha. On conversion charges of shops, the chief minister assured to resolve the problem by talking to the officers of MC.
  • He said that soon Gurugram railway station would be linked with metro. He assured to get a survey conducted for elevating new railway and old railway roads in the district.
  • The Chief Minister announced to give ex-gratia of Rs five lakh each to the dependents of two deceased who died when their house caught fire in Sohna and the incident is being investigated by Deputy Commissioner, Mr Vinay Partap Singh. He said that mass weddings should be encouraged and for this, the state government would make provision of kanyadaan amount to be given.
  • The Chief Minister said that any person can go to Antyodaya Bhawan constructed at district level and get all information about government schemes and could also give his application to take the benefit of the scheme. These Antyodaya Bhawans would later be opened at sub divisional level, he added.
  • Chandigarh, May 28–The Haryana Nambardar Association has decided to support the state government in the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Swachh Bharat and other campaigns of the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi. About 25,000 Nambardars posted across the state would contribute to better implementation of such campaigns in the state, including the one on drug de-addiction.
  • This was conveyed to the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, by a delegation of Nambardars, led by Mr Zile Singh, President of the association, along with national convener of the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Mr Rajendra Phadke, which met him at his residence here today. It assured him of full support and total transparency in the working of nambarars.
  • Mr Singh said the association which worked as a non-political organization, had also decided to take effective steps to bring about a positive change in the attitude of people towards the girl child and ensure cleanliness in the surroundings. 
  • The association has decided to set up a monitoring committee to check corruption. It will take strict action and file an FIR against nambardars involved in corruption. Since nambardars worked as a bridge between government and the people, the state government should accept their demands. On the pattern of panchayat representatives, the honourarium of nambardars should also be increased, Mr Zile Singh demanded.
  • The demands made by the association included, first preference for appointment to the post of nambardar should be  given to the son of the deceased who meets the eligibility conditions; in case of serious illness or inability of movement of nambardar, a Sarbrah nambar should be appointed and medical expenses on his illness should be borne by the state government.
  • The Chief Minister assured them that appropriate action would be taken soon on their demands. He also assured them to consider their invitation for the Narbardar Sammelan where a blood donation camp would be organised and nambardars would also donate blood.
  • Those present included Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr Rajesh Khullar, MLA Mr Aseem Goel, Media Advisor to Chief Minister, Mr Rajiv Jain, General Secretary, Namabardar  Association, Mr  Sanjeev Saini, and others.
  • Chandigarh, May 28–The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has directed that major disciplinary proceedings should be initiated against 125  officers of the  Excise and Taxation Department who failed to  file their property statement in spite of repeated letters and warnings.
  • Stating this today, an official spokesman said an inquiry officer would be appointed in each case.  The erring officers include Excise and Taxation Officers, Assistant Excise and Taxation Officers, Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner (X) and Deputy Excise and Taxation Commissioner (Inspection) of the department.
