  • Chandigarh, May 2 :  Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal today launched “Sahyog Club” to which students of engineering and polytechnic colleges of the State  would be registered as its members and entrusted the task of  development and cleanliness of village ponds. 
  • While addressing the entrepreneurs of the state at the inauguration t of I–Tech (Industry Technical Excellence Changing Haryana) organized at  Government Polytechnic,  Manesar in district Gurugram, he said that the students would visit the ponds and  assist the concerned Ponds Development Authority in the State.
  • He urged  the entrepreneurs to train the youth of the state as per their industrial’ requirement  so that they could avail of maximum employment opportunities. He assured that the government would facilitate  in  creation of more employment opportunities for the youth and would make every effort to  bridge  the gap  in providing skilled  youth to the industry.
  • The State Government has initiated various schemes to enhance their skill including “Saksham Rozgar Yojna “ under which every unemployed youth are given 100 hours of work for three years, and  honorarium of Rs 9000 and Rs 7500 is being given to them as per their qualifications. He said that till now, 35,000 to 40,000   youths have benefitted from this scheme.
  • He said that the Government accept that there are around four to five lakh   unemployed youth in the State and providing jobs to them is the biggest challenge. About  two lakh youth are unemployed every year in the state but government jobs are only available to 20,000   people. Therefore, there is dire need to develop the skill of these youth. He said that the state government has recently advertised 54,000 government jobs. Apart from this, the process of inviting applications for 38,000 grade-D jobs is also in progress.
  • He called upon the youth to come forward for  start-ups. He said that to make the youth skilled, the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi has initiated programs such as Start-up India, Skill India, Make-in-India, Digital India, so that the youth  are skilled and India makes   progress rapidly.
  • Describing the country's population as an asset, he said that today our country has about 30 crore population between the age of 20 to 40 years. It there talent is given proper direction, our country would prosper to further emerging heights.
  • Earlier, the Technical Education Minister, Prof. Ram Bilas Sharma said that the Technical Education Department had dedicated this year to children and assured the industry and entrepreneurs that they would be able to provide potential students as per their need. He said that with the efforts of the government, so far 700 youth have been provided employment  by developing their skill and the process would continue  further by the Technical Education Department.
  • On this occasion Additional Chief Secretary, Technical Education Ms jyoti Arora, acclaimed the response received from the Industry regarding their offer to collaborate with Technical Education System in Haryana. She shared with the house that All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi has appreciated the National Skill Quality Framework (NSQF) compliant curriculum revised by Technical Education Department, Haryana which would be implemented as the Model Curriculum by AICTE for the entire Nation. She said that over one lakh children are studying in various engineering colleges and the technical department updates the syllabus periodically. She further stated that in the last four to five months 200 MOUs were made functional and today also 17 MOUs have been signed with the industries of repute. The department would soon declare 100 percent placement for the students of technical colleges of the State.
  • A Mega Job Fair was organized in Polytechnic College, Manesar, the largest job fair in the state. 2000 children participated and 60 companies have provided employment to  1000 children in this fair. She also briefed about the establishment of Excellence Centers, linking the students  of Civil Engineering with the Mega Pond Development Scheme, establishment of Sahyog Club, the establishment of Skills Development University. Giving information to the Chief Minister and others, she said that Manesar Industrial Welfare Association has agreed to give employment to students of Manesar Polytechnic College after giving 18 months of training.
  • Deputy Director, AICTE, Mr M. P. Punia appreciated the State’s Technical Education and defined it as one of the best in the country.  
  • Mrs Bimla Chaudhery MLA Pataudi, Mr R,. S Dhillon Director General Technical Education along with the other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
  • The students with exceptional performance and achievements were also felicitated during the event.
  • Chandigarh, May 2 –The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, has directed officers of power utilities to ensure uninterrupted power supply to all categories of consumers in the state, including the agriculture sector, especially for the sowing of paddy. He has been assured that adequate power is available to meet the needs of the consumers. 
  • The Chief Minister was presiding over a meeting with officers of the Uttar and Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigams to review measures taken to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people in the state, here today. He also reviewed the challenges faced by powr utilities in the availability and supply of power.
  • The Additional Chief Secretary, Power Department, Mr. P.K. Das, said in view of the summer season, power utilities had made elaborate arrangements of power supply.
  • During summers, the estimated average demand of electricity would be between 7,500 and 8,500 MW and estimated peak demand of power is expected to be between 9,500 and 9,700 MW. For this, power utilities have adequate amount of electricity available with them, he added.
  • Chandigarh, May 2 –The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, will dedicate to industrialists three clusters set up at a cost of over Rs 32 crore in Karnal, on May 3. Besides, the Industries and Commerce Department has initiated the process for setting up three new clusters out of which two have been approved by the Central Government.
  • Disclosing this here today, the Industries and Commerce Minister, Mr. Vipul Goel, said the BJP Governments at the Centre and in the state under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi, and the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, had been working to promote micro, small and medium enterprises.
  • The Cluster Scheme is proving to be a boon for such industrialists, and, in future, the number of clusters would be increased. The state government has provided positive atmosphere to big factories as well as small enterprises.
  • He said ‘Samadhan Divas’ would be organised under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister at Karnal tomorrow where Mr Manohar Lal would interact with industrialists for the first time. On this occasion, three clusters namely, Print and Pack, Bakery and Pharma, would be dedicated to local industrialists. Approval has also been sought for establishing Plastic Packaging, Dairy and Signage clusters in Karnal.
  • Mr. Goel said he had announced setting up of 25 clusters across the state at the MSME Conference last year for micro and small industries. Out of these, 20 have either been established or are under progress. Target has been set to complete the remaining clusters in the next three-four months, he added.
  • Clusters are being established to provide all facilities to small industrialists at one place with the assistance of Central Government and share of the state government as well as small industrialists. 
  • Mr Goel said a cluster established under the MSME-Cluster Development Programme costs about Rs 15 crore. Seventy per cent cost of such cluster is borne by the Central Government, 20 per cent by the state government and 10 per cent by local industrialists. Similarly, the cluster costing about Rs 2crore is established with 90 per cent share of the Central Government and 10 per cent of the industrialists.
  • Chandigarh, May 2 – With an aim to curb activities of organized criminals, gangsters, prevent smuggling of illicit weapons and narcotics in NCR Region especially in border areas, the inter-state crime coordination committee meeting of four states today decided to set up “Inter-State Crime Information Secretariat” in Gurugram. This institutional mechanism will assist police of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and New Delhi to effectively coordinate, create common database and real time sharing of information to prevent and detect crime and check criminal activities.
  • This decision was taken in the first inter-state crime coordination committee meeting which was also addressed by the Chief Minister Haryana, Mr Manohar Lal, who said that the idea to hold this meeting was conceptualized during his informal meeting with U.P. Chief Minister, Mr Yogi Adityanath.  Holding of such kind of quarterly meetings would certainly pay rich dividends to nab the inter-state gangs of criminals and check illegal activities.
  • The agenda for the meeting was planned by Sh. Baljit Singh Sandhu, DGP Haryana in consultation with DGP UP, DGP Rajasthan and Commissioner Police, Delhi. 
  • The meeting was attended by senior Police officers of participating states including Haryana Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Mr Mohd Akil, ADGP, Ambala Range, Mr R.C. Mishra, Uttar Pradesh ADGP (L & O), Mr Anand Kumar, ADGP Crime, U. P., Mr Chandra Prakash, ADGP Jaipur Range, Rajasthan, Mr Hemant Priyadarshy and Special C.P. Law and Order South Delhi, Mr P. Kamaraj and Sh. Anil Kumar Rao, IG CID Haryana. 
  • Later on, in a joint briefing, ADGP (L & O) Mr Mohd. Akil said that all the police officers have shared and deliberated upon various kinds of inter-state crimes and strategies to nab such criminals. He said that it was also decided that regular meetings between Crime branch, CIA and STF officials as well as border SHOs would also be held to ensure effective control on crime and to maintain law and order with mutual coordination. It was also decided that telephone numbers of police officials at all levels would be shared in making better coordination and to prevent and detect inter-state crime. Aiming to use social media in this series, appropriate groups of police officials would also be made. In addition, all the participating states would appoint a senior level Nodal Officer each for real time sharing of information.
  • He said that Haryana has sought cooperation from all the states especially from Uttar Pradesh to keep smashing the network engaged in manufacturing and supply of illicit weapons in inter-state bordering areas. It will be a big achievement for the police if we collectively could prevent manufacturing, transportation and procurement of illicit weapons. Haryana has also sought cooperation from Rajasthan in preventing illegal mining and problem of overloading.
  • A lot of emphasis was laid on sharing information for containing inter-state crime and criminals in real time. This would go a long way in increasing mutual coordination amongst these states. It was decided that the next quarterly meeting will be held in Noida, he added.
  • Others present in the meeting included IGP, L & O Mr A.S. Chawla, IGP STF, Haryana, Mr Saurabh Singh, IGP Rohtak Range Mr Navdeep Singh Virk, CP Gurugram Mr Sandeep Khirwar, IGP Karnal Range, Mr Subhash Yadav, IGP Bikaner Range, Rajasthan Mr Bipin Kumar Pandey, Special CP South Range Delhi, Mr P. Ranjan, IGP SOG Jaipur, Mr M.N. Dinesh, Joint CP Traffic Delhi, Mrs Garima Bhatnagar and other senior police officers of participating states.
