  • Chandigarh April 23: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal will be leading a high-level delegation to United Kingdom (UK) next month to discuss various issues of mutual interest including urban development, global city, aviation hub, infrastructure and agriculture. He  would also address Indian Diaspora in UK.
  • Mr Manohar Lal was interacting with a delegation of United Kingdom (UK) led by Permanent Under Secretary, Head of Diplomatic Service, United Kingdom (UK) Mr Simon McDonald that called on him here today.   
  • The Chief Minister said that the State Government is developing Sonipat and Bahadurgarh on the pattern of Gurugram and Faridabad. Being their close proximity to national capital Delhi, there is huge potential of industrial development in these cities.  Though Haryana is primarily an agrarian State, it has taken major strides towards industrialization during the last few years, he added.
  • He said that 65 per cent population of the State is engaged in agriculture and allied sector. Despite of only 1.4 per cent of total population of the country, Haryana is the single largest contributor of food grains in the national pool. Apart from this, Haryana is also the largest exporter of basmati rice.
  • The Chief Minister said that the State is going to develop an international airport at Hisar, about 150 kilometers from New Delhi. About  2400 acres of government land is available for this airport. The State already has a domestic airport at Hisar and the regional connectivity to Delhi and Chandigarh would be started within next six months. The connectivity would be further expanded later on. As many as six major infrastructure developers have shown interest in developing this airport.
  • Permanent under Secretary, Head of Diplomatic Service, United Kingdom (UK) Mr Simon McDonald informed the Chief Minister that UK has a specialization in developing global city. Quoting example, he said that canary wharf in UK was an underdeveloped city but now it has become a business city.
  • The British Deputy High Commissioner  in Chandigarh Mr Andrew Ayre said  that the technology for sex section of cows would also be showcased to the  Chief Minister during his visit to UK.
  • Among those  present in the meeting included Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr Rajesh Khullar, Additional Chief Secretary, Cooperation Mrs Navraj Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary, Civil Aviation Mr Devender Singh, Principal Secretary, Labour Dr Mahavir Singh, Principal Secretary, Electronics Mr Ankur Gupta,  Managing Director Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) Mr T.L Saytyaprakash, Chief Administrator, Haryana Shahari Vikash Pradhikaran (HSVP) Mr J. Ganeshan and other senior officers of the State Government.
  • Chandigarh April 23 - While giving a major relief to the Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the State, the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has announced that MSMEs having connected load upto 20 kilowatts (KW) would be charged at the rate of Rs 4.75 per unit instead of Rs 6.65 per unit with effect from May 1, 2018. The difference would be transferred by the Industries Department directly into the bank account of beneficiary units through DBT. 
  • Mr Manohar Lal made this announcement when a delegation of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) led by Chairman, CII, Northern Region, Mr Sachit Jain called on him here today. The delegation thanked the Chief Minister for announcing this major incentive for MSMEs. 
  • Meanwhile, the Industries and Commerce Minister, Mr Vipul Goel has also thanked the Chief Minister for slashing the electricity rate for MSMEs having connected load upto 20 KW and said that this is a big step forward by the State Government towards promoting MSMEs in the State.  
  • Principal OSD to Chief Minister, Mr Neeraj Daftuar was also present on this occasion.
  • Chandigarh April 23: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has approved a sum of over Rs 64.36 crore for the construction and improvement of roads in the State.
  • While stating this here today, a spokesman of Public Works (Building and Roads) Department said that a sum of over Rs 62 crore has been approved for the four-lanning on Nizampur Nangal Chaudhary road in district Mahendergarh.
  • He said that similarly, a sum of Rs 1.87 crore has been approved for the construction of new road from village Mohdpur Ahir to Beri in Nuh district and Rs 47.24 lakh for the construction of a road from Karira to Bharap  in district Mahindergarh.
