  • Chandigarh Feb 12: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi will dedicate the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal (KMP) Expressway and Kundli-Ghaziabad-Palwal (KGP) Expressway to the people on the completion of these projects by March 31, 2018.
  • Mr Manohar Lal was interacting with the media persons after inspecting the intersection of KMP-KGP and National Highway-1 at Rai in district Sonipat today.
  • The Chief Minister said that the construction work on these expressway would be got completed within the prescribed time frame and it would help in getting rid-off the problem of traffic jam and also ensure smooth flow of vehicles. Earlier, he reviewed the progress of construction work and sought report from the officers of the construction company.
  • In reply to a question, the Chief Minister said that in a democratic set up every political party has the right to organize public meetings. It is cheap and disgraceful for other political party to create unnecessary hurdle in such events. Such acts are in clear cut violation of democracy and would not be accepted at all, he added.
  • Mr Manohar Lal also visited village Badkhalsa where he was felicitated by the people of 13 villages. The villagers expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for returning the acquired land of farmers. Addressing the people on this occasion, the Chief Minister described Badkhalsa as a historical village and said that he has a deep reverence for the village. He said that this village of Shaheed Kushal Singh would now also be known for improvement in the sex ratio.
  • He said that Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi had launched the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao programme from Haryana. The programme yielded positive results and now the sex ratio in the State is 914 girls against 1000 boys. In village Badkhalsa, this figure has even crossed 1000 mark, he said while congratulating the villagers on achieving this feat. Welfare and uplift of girls are necessary for building a strong and stable society, he added. He exhorted the villagers to educate the girls and said that Sonipat has plenty of good educational institutions. Sonipat is fast developing as an education hub and more reputed institutions would soon come up in this area, he added.  He also urged the youth to excel in sports and said that Haryana has performed outstandingly in Khelo India Competition.
  • Later while on his way back to Chandigarh from Delhi, the Chief Minister made a brief halt at Haveli on GT road, Karnal where the party workers of the district gave him a rousing welcome. He interacted with the workers and get first hand information about the arrangements being made for the upcoming ‘Yuva Hunkar Rally’ of BJP National President, Mr Amit Shah in Jind on February 15, 2018. He exhorted the party workers to reach in maximum numbers at the rally.
