  • Chandigarh Feb 2---The Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, today made an unscheduled visit to GD Goenka School, Sohna, in Gurugram district and interacted with the students and teachers whose bus was recently pelted with stones by some miscreants protesting the release of the movie Padmawat. He patted them on the back for showing courage in the face of an adverse situation.   
  • While sympathizing with the school children, the Chief Minister said, “Since I saw this incident on the television, what kept boggling my mind was why it should have happened to the little children. Though I am not feeling well, yet I decided to meet you all”.
  • When stones were being thrown at their bus, the children not only showed courage but also braved the situation with poise and calm.  Expressing concern over their security, he assured them that adequate arrangements would be made by the state government to prevent re occurrence of such incidents.  
  • The Chief Minister said in a democratic system, every citizen had the right to express his views but if protest is to be registered, it should be done peacefully.
  • He inquired from the children how things happened that day and also interacted with the teachers then present in the bus. He appreciated the teachers for acting sensibly during the incident and saving the students from being hurt.
  • A teacher told the Chief Minister that the brave students, on getting instructions, lied down between the seats of the bus and covered themselves. Five lady teachers were accompanying the students in the bus.
  • After giving the students and teachers a patient hearing, the Chief Minister asked the students to try and forget the incident. He also interacted with bus driver Ramesh. He told the Chief Minister that three buses of GD Goenka School were in the queue. Out of these, two buses were provided safe passage by the Gurugram Police by pacifying the people but someone from the crowd threw stone on the front glass of his bus, followed by another stone which hit the driver’s side glass window. Until then, the bus of Haryana Roadways had not ben set ablaze and the police were trying to pacify the mob, Ramesh added.
  • While welcoming the Chief Minister, Principal of the School, Mrs Nita Bali, said the Chief Minister was quite concerned about the incident and had taken time out to come and meet the children.
  • Chandigarh Feb 2: Haryana Government has declared Manesar as new Police District of the State to further strengthen the law and order situation in the area, keep a check on the incident of crime and road accidents and provide better administration to the people of district Gurugram. 
  • While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal has approved a proposal in this regard. The Chief Minister has also accorded approval for the requisite staff for the newly declared police district on which an annual expenditure of over Rs 3.85 crore would be incurred. 
  • The spokesman said that declaring Manesar as new Police District would not only help in keeping a tab on the incident of crime and road accidents in the area but also facilitate the Government in providing better administration to the people of district Gurugram.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 2- The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath today invited the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal and BJP Incharge, Dr Anil Jain to visit Mathura and be a part of Barsana Holi celebrations in Uttar Pradesh on February 23 and 24.
  • Yogi Adityanath gave this invitation, while addressing the people on the inauguration of 32nd Surajkund International Crafts Mela in Faridabad today.
  • He said that the Uttar Pradesh government would always be ready to support Haryana, whenever there would be need to strengthen the youth, farmers, women of Haryana and national unity. While congratulating Mr Manohar Lal, his Cabinet Ministers and the people of the state, on the occasion of inauguration of the Mela, he said that he would realise the vision of ‘Ek Bharat-Shreshtha Bharat’. 
  • On the occasion, Mr Manohar Lal honoured the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh with memento and a shawl. At the same time, he also honoured Women Welfare Minister, Uttar Pradesh, Mrs Reeta Bahuguna Joshi along with other Ministers from Uttar Pradesh and Ambassadors and delegates from countries Morocco, Turkmenistan, Tunisia, Mauritius and Uganda.
  • Chandigarh, Feb 2– Going a step further in strengthening the transport facilities in both the state, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh today signed a Reciprocal Transport Agreement, in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath. The agreement which will facilitate buses of both the states to operate over 1.16 lakh kms daily in each other territories was signed on the inauguration day of the 32nd Surajkund International Crafts Mela in Faridabad. 
  • Speaking on this occasion, the Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal described the day as an important day for the people of both Haryana and Uttar Pradesh as the states share a long border. The ply of buses under this agreement between both the states would immensely facilitate the people living in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. He said that the border of Haryana along with Uttar Pradesh ranges from Ponta Sahib to Hodal-Kosi in South Haryana. This transport agreement with neighbour State will also facilitate economic activity as well as easy access to traffic.
  • The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that after formation of new government in Uttar Pradesh, we have considered similar proposals for transportation in several states and such agreements have also been made with Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. He said that western Uttar Pradesh and Haryana are no different from anywhere, and both the states are having been associated for thousands of years. Lord Krishna was born in Uttar Pradesh; he delivered the holy message of Gita in Haryana. He said that the Haryana residents will get the opportunity to visit various places at Ayodhya, Kashi, Gorakhpur, Mathura, etc. in Uttar Pradesh, while passing through the state; they can also go to Pashupatinath and Ganga Sagar of Nepal.
  • It may be mentioned here that Uttar Pradesh is the ‘Theme State’ of the Mela this year.  The agreement has been inked between both the states after 35 years to cater the increasing demand of transport operations.
  • Under this Agreement, while 423 buses of Haryana will operate 66,420 kms daily in Uttar Pradesh covering 256 routes, the 522 buses of UP government will be able to operate 50,034 km daily on similar number of routes. As per previous agreement, buses of Haryana was operating 10,362 kms daily in the territory of Uttar Pradesh and likewise Uttar Pradesh state was operating 8,116 kms daily in territory of Haryana.
  • Additional Chief Secretary, Transport, Mr R.R. Jowel signed on behalf of the Haryana Government whereas the same was signed by Principal Secretary, Transport Mrs Aradhana Shukla on behalf of Uttar Pradesh. The Reciprocal Transport Agreement would provide convenient transport facilities to people of both the states because of a substantial increase in demand for transport operations.
  • Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Mr Krishan Pal Gujjar, Haryana Transport Minister, Mr Krishan Lal Panwar, Education Minister, Mr Ram Bilas Sharma, Urban Local Bodies Minister, Mrs Kavita Jain, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr Krishan Kumar Bedi, Uttar Pradesh Minister of State for Transport, Mr Swatantra Dev Singh, MLAs Mrs Seema Trikha, Mrs Prem Lata, Chairperson, HSAMB, Mrs Krishna Gahlawat and other dignitaries were also present on this occasion.
