  • Chandigarh, August 8 – Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal will be the Chief Guest in the National Convention of Bhartiya Shikshak Mandal (BSM) to be held in Faridabad from November 23 to 25, 2018 in which about 2,500 educationists and intellectuals from across the country will participate.
  • This was disclosed today by Vice Chancellor of YMCA University of Science and Technology, Faridabad, who is also the President of BSM Haryana Unit, after his meeting held with the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal at his residence in Chandigarh. The Vice Chancellor along with National Organising Secretary, Mr. Mukul Kanitkar and State Secretary (Haryana) Mr. Pushpendra Rathi invited the Chief Minister for National Convention of BSM.
  • The Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal has accepted the invitation of National Convention of Bhartiya Shikshak Mandal and extended best wishes to the organisers for the grand success of the program.
  • During the meeting, Mr. Mukul Kanitkar apprised the Chief Minister that the Bhartiya Shikshak Mandal has been working in the field of education for the last 49 years and it has contributed significantly towards Nation-building. The organization has been playing its role in the society through its publications and awareness and training programs. He apprised that BSM has decided to organize various educational programs and seminars as a part of its Golden Jubilee celebration. The BSM had organised ‘Bharat Bodh’ program in New Delhi last year in which former President of India Mr. Pranab Mukherjee was the Chief Guest. Similarly, the BSM had organised International Gurukul Conference in the month of April which was attended by 800 representatives from 10 different countries. In this connection, the organisation is going to organise its third mega event, a National Convention at Faridabad.
  • Mr. Pushpendra Rathi said that about 2,500 educationists and intellectuals from across the country are expected to participate in the Convention. General Secretary of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mr. Suresh Joshi would be among the main dignitaries to attend the program, he added.
  • Chandigarh, August 8- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal will inaugurate the Hisar Airport on August 15, 2018. The Hisar Airport will be the first licensed airport of the state.
  • While giving this information, an official spokesman said that the officers today carried out inspection of ongoing construction works and completed works in the airport.
  • Regarding preparations before the inauguration, the Civil Aviation Advisor, Mr Ashok Sangwan and Deputy Commissioner, Hisar, Mr Ashok Kumar Meena today held a meeting with the officers at the airport office and discussed about status of electricity, water, communication services, fire fighting, police post and other facilities at the airport and fixed deadlines related to it for the officials.      
  • Preparations for the inauguration of the first licensed airport of the state are in full swing.    A team of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) would visit the airport of August 10 and would inspection the preparation works for two days. Their suggestions and objections would be followed within the prescribed time so that no problem is faced for obtaining licence.
  • On August 13, there would be security Audit. In the next week, one or the other team would visit the airport to take stock of preparations.
  • Deputy Commissioner, Mr Ashok Kumar Meena inspected entrance gates constructed for passengers, waiting room, X-ray machines being set up for luggage checking the passengers and other construction activities. The officers also inspected the runway and gave necessary directions to the officials.
  • Chandigarh August 8: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, today visited the residence of renowned industrialist Mr Rajan Prasad Nanda in New Delhi and offered condolences to the bereaved family on his demise. Mr Nanda passed away on Sunday. He was 76.
  • The Chief Minister, who was also accompanied by Finance Minister, Capt Abhimanyu, said that Mr Nanda had a deep association with Haryana especially with the people of Faridabad. His demise would be an irreparable loss to the industrial sector, he added.
  •  The Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed the almighty to give strength to the family to bear this loss.
  • Mrs Ritu Nanda, wife of Mr Rajan Prasad Nanda, son Mr Nikhil Nanda, daughter Ms Natasha Nanda and daughter-in-law Mrs Shweta Bachchan Nanda were also present on this occasion.
  • Chandigarh August 8: Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad  demise of DMK Chief and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr M Karunanidhi who breathed his last at a hospital in Chennai yesterday evening. He was 94.
  • In a condolence message issued here today, Mr Manohar Lal said that he is deeply saddened by the demise of Mr Karunanidhi.
  •  Mr Karunanidhi was a prolific writer and mass leader who vehemently opposed emergency. His dedication for welfare of the people would always be remembered, he added.
  • The Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed the almighty that the departed soul might rest in peace.
  • Chandigarh August 8: The Haryana Government has decided to distribute fortified mustard oil through Public Distribution System (PDS) at the rate of two liters per month per family from September 1, 2018. To begin with Ambala and Karnal would be covered under this scheme. Besides, it would be ensured that the only fortified edible oil is available in the open market through HAFED from November 2018 onward. 
  • In a letter written to Member NITI Aayog, New Delhi Dr Vinod Kumar Paul, the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal said that the State Government is fully committed to improving the health and nutritional status of its citizens especially the women and children. We have therefore, been proactively addressing the problem of micro-nutrient deficiencies, he added. He also assured all support of the State Government to any endeavour towards solving the major health concern of under nutrition. 
  • The Chief Minister said that the State Government has started a pilot project of distribution of fortified wheat flour under PDS in two blocks of Ambala district in March 2017 and also under Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) in June 2017. Encouraged by its success, we have decided to scale it up to two districts namely Ambala and Karnal from September 2018, both under PDS and ICDS. It would be expanded to the entire State by December, 2018. 
  • He said that milk fortification with Vitamin A and D2 was started in all six milk plants in the State in 2016. The fortification is being done as per Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) standards and the State has recently been accredited with the F+ logo for it. He said that the Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) of the State Government started fortification of Panjeeri (Iron, Vitamin B12 and folic acid) in Karnal district in 2016. The double fortified salt is already compulsory being used throughout the State both under ICDS and Mid-Day Meal. Apart from this, Fortified Edible Oil (Cotton-seed and Soyabean) is being used in five districts under ICDS namely Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Ambala, Karnal and Gurugram. This would be extended to all remaining districts by September, 2018. In addition, it has recently been made mandatory to use only fortified edible oil in Mid Day Meal.
