- Chandigarh, August 19 : The Haryana government has decided to appoint three State Information Commissioners in the State Information Commission and invited applications by September 13, 2018.
- While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that State Government has constituted a body under the Right to InformationAct, 2005 known as State Information Commission to exercise the powers conferred on and to perform the functions assigned to it under the Act. The Commission shall have a Chief Information Commissioner and up to ten Information Commissioners. - He said that the Act provides that the State Information Commissioner should be person of eminence in public life with wide knowledge and experience in law, science and technology, social service, management, journalism, mass-media or administration and
- He said that further, the State Information Commissioners should not be a Member of Parliament or Member of the Legislature of any State, or Union Territory, as the case may be or hold any other office of profit or connected with any political party or carrying on any business, or pursuing any profession. - He said that the State Information Commissioner should hold office for a term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office or till he attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier. The salary and allowances payable to State Information Commissioner should be the same as that of Chief Secretary of the State Government subject to adjustment of the pensionary or retirement benefits availed by him, if any, in accordance with the provisions of the
- He said that Persons fulfilling the criteria for appointment as State Information Commissioner and interested for appointment to the post may send their particulars in the enclosed performa by post to the office of Additional Chief Secretary, Administrative Reforms Department, Room No. 43, 9th floor, Haryana Civil Secretariat, Sector-1, Chandigarh by September 13, 2018. Persons who are serving under the State or Central Government or any other Organization, may send their particulars through proper channel. The persons who have already applied up to July 11, 2018 for these posts against Government advertisement dated June 12, 2018 are not required to apply afresh, he added.
